Sarah lookd at Hayden. He looked straight in her eyes.
“you are awake”, Sarah said as tears roll down her cheeks.
Hayden smiles softly at Sarah. “ Was I too late, Sarah? Three years weren't that late, was it- my best friend?
'Best friend?' Sarah looks at the floor sadly. "Y-yes bestfriend"
The day has finally come. Sarah has been waiting for this day for the last three years since Hayden went into Coma.
"Lets hangout in the evening, Sarah", Hayden smiles. The smile which got Sarah's heart beat faster. He was the Hayden, whom Sarah has been loving for years.
" Sure, this still feels like a dream,I-". Hayden shushes Sarah. " No more words dear, lets meet later. I love you!"
Sarah smiles widely when he heard those three words leaves his mouth. Those were meant purely in a friendly way.
***TIME SKIP***
"Here your favourite ice cream, Sarah!"
Sarah looks at Hayden before smiling nervously.
" I can't consume dairy products anymore, Hayden"
Hayden's smile dissapeared from his face. "Oh! I-i just, a long time has passed since I-"
Sarah holds Hayden hands and smiles warmly. "It doesn't matter Hayden, you are back now. Thats what matters."
Hayden stands up and goes out to the garden. " Hayden! Wait!", Sarah yells following him. Hayden stood there in a corner of the garden eyes teary.
"A lot of things has changed, hasn't it Sarah?"
" No NO! nothing has changed Hayden."
" I-i am scared Sarah..are you s-still my best friend?"
Sarah looks at Hayden with teary eyes. "Yes I am your best friend but-"
Hayden looks at Sarah, who was avoiding him.
"I-" Sarah cups Hayden's cheeks. " I love you Hayden. More than a friend. I loved you, I missed you everyday for this three years. I know you-"
"You L-love me?", Hayden searches Sarah's eyes for truth. She nods softly. "I love you too , Sarah."
Sarah looks at Hayden with wide eyes. "A-are you j-joking?". Hayden smiles before pressing his lips against Sarah's.
"It feels li-like a dream", Sarah looks at Hayden with dreamy eyes.
Hayden smiles before breaking down into tears.
"Hayden, W-whats wrong? why-"
"It feels like a dream, right?"
Sarah starts panicking as Hayden starts walking back.
"H-hayden, don't"
"It is a dream, Sarah"
Sarah starts sobbing while begging Hayden to stop.
"Its a dream Sarah, I cannot do this"
"Hayden, please..please don't leave me"
"I can't..I have to leave Sarah, I AM DEAD."
Hayden dissapeared as Sarah's view got hazzy due to her tears. She could feel someone yelling her name.
she opens her eyes and finds herself in her room, her mom standing beside her.
"Mom?"
"Thank god you are up Sarah, I thought I was going to lose you after..", Sarah's mom started crying.
"After Hayden breathed his last breath yesterday after being in Coma for last three years."
Sarah looks at her Mother before tears. rolled down her cheeks. She couldn't do it, she couldn't confess to Hayden in this lifetime.
