Lily climbed on to her bed and curled up. Shaking in fear anticipating the monster to show up. She had tried to tell them but no one believed her.
She was just 7, so of course no one believed her. But they didn't know that there are some things children knows better than elders. They are open minded and has a clear perception of things. They aren't bound by any of the social views. They can accept things that even grown men can't. And they don't have any need to make up things for others. They're pure.
But not Lily, not Lily. She's not pure. She's broken and dirty. She felt tears making way down her cheeks. It's cold in there.
He was watching the little girl from the shadows. Debating how to address her. She didn't want to scare her. He wasn't sure if she knew about him, but he believes she had smiled at him.
Or so he wants to believe. People rarely notice him, and when they do their first reaction is not a smile. But this little girl had smiled at him, even if that smile wasn't meant for him, he felt happy.
So had decided to go to her home, he could just stay in the shadows and watch her. If he could catch her smile again , he would be happier than anybody. So he waited and waited
She didn't smile. Instead he saw her cry. Why would she be crying, he thought ,is it his fault somehow? Perhaps he should just leave. Then she might smile. He won't be able to see it but it would be better than seeing her cry.
He knocked down a box of something round and shiny as he turned to leave. He stopped to put them back. Then he heard a voice. "Please don't leave me alone , I'm scared of the monster "
Monster. It's the word. The word every one screams when seeing him. Is he really a monster? Is she so scared of him. He felt a dull pain.He had wanted to talk to her. It had been soo long since he had talked. But she's afraid of him. So he should leave.
"Please don't go",Lily pleaded. She's afraid, very afraid. The monster will come anytime now. She wanted the shadow to stay. But he's going. Perhaps he knew how dirty she was.
He stopped, as he realized she's talking to him. "Aαh you_you not? you _talk....",he pointed a gnarly whisp of smoke to his chest. The little girl nodded slightly .
He crouched down besides her bed and lowered his head so that it was in level with her's. His massive body loomed over the little girl.
"Y-you not_you not_ scared ?" he shyly asked. "I'm scared of the monster, he's coming " "you not scared of I? " The little girl pondered for a while. "No, I'm not ". "You not scared of I " He felt happy. But who is this monster she is scared of? He doesn't know anyone scarier than him. Will this monster scare him too?
No. No. He won't be scared. He will protect the girl who smiled at him.
"You_I_protect ,Monster_go_scared" The little girl sat up. "What do you mean? " she tilted her head. "You don scared _I protect _monster run" She looked confused. Then her face brightened. "You will protect me! " He nodded. He would protect her. He doesn't care how scary the monster is.
The door opened. A man with a few graying hairs stepped in. "Lily, are you ready to play, baby? " The man grinned from ear to ear. The little girl trembled. "Monster "she whispered
He rose to his full hight the man ran away, scared. That monster is not scary at all but he's happy to make the little girl smile.
"You smile _I happy"
