Midnight Chronicle
I sat outside my door chair fast on a chaise lounge my grandad bought me, blankly staring at the most beautiful sight my eyes could ever withhold - the midnight sun.
It shone so brightly on every hydrogen and helium particle to reveal numerous luminous celestial bodies. Every star one micrometer away from each other as my eyes could tell.
I could see every detail of the sky, from the very obvious bright blue colour of the atmosphere and the sheep white stale clouds that formed images my head couldn't fathom to the unseen glory of the moon.
I was in my own world. Not a world of fantasy but a world of fascinating beauty, a true genjutsu.
The midnight sun was crescent, how could it be so bright? I asked myself.
As I stared with my eyes amply opened to its ultimate admiring such astonishing sight, I heard a click and my amygdala brought me back to reality.
I lowered my head to a ninety degree from my neck with my breath held, I waited for some time. Then I heard it again. The adrenaline that surged through my veins were screeching.
What was that? I asked no one in particular.
With a little courage I looked around to behold a disturbing sight. A dark shadow that seemed to have horns and a body covered with hair like structures like those of a centipede crawled behind me. Ugh! I blurted out. I was both irritated and scared that I didn't notice the power company had restored power!!
What the heck could that be?!
Wait wait what?!!!
The power company had restored power!!!!!
woah! This is awesome!! I screamed.
I know I know, it's not something to shout about but the thing is after a month in darkness with flammable wax, I couldn't believe that the 100 watt bulb fixed just a little below the tect of my house was still functioning!
Wow! I echoed in my mind.
I waited for another five minutes to be sure I wasn't just being notified of their existence. The bulb was still illuminated.
Oh well I muttered to myself as I got to my feet to match into the house with a mischievous grin..
Yeah a mischievous grin.
My intention was to go into my "beautiful" house, sit and put on the TV to enjoy some shows after a long while while eating what, let me see, pop corn? or prom crackers?
whatever mehn let's get in.
I was telling myself happily.
So standing to my feet, I walked straight to my living room. With each step I took walking away from the glorious sight, I felt impelled not to. I walked on any way.
Placing my leg on the step I proceeded. I entered the living room with the lights shining so brightly on my whole being. I could feel my shadow as dark as dark.
I gasped so loud like I had just seen the most exceptional sight forgetting that I had regarded the moonlight and clouds as the most beautiful sight a while ago. Well of course it was the most exceptional because then I could see my house was upside down backwards. I placed my hand to my face in utter disappointment and laughed. I had been leaving in the dark for months, what was i expecting, I thought. Oh well.
I turned to my left to find the plate I used in taking golden morn for breakfast still dirty and sitting on my couch with the spoon ten metres away. Within the ten metres, talc was scattered, with those smelly shoes I haven't sun dried in a while and on top of that my clothes of over how many weeks were lying carelessly there, screaming why!
Turning left, I saw my real nature.
Everywhere was 'sighs'
Hangers on the dining table, cups on the gas cooker, shoes in my pots, wardrobe was empty 'cos my clothes decided to take a vacation to the store..
Was I really the only one in this house or is there a goblin lurking around.
I was practically living the life of a topsy turvey. I think I was better, at least I wasn't on an outfit at night.
After looking around for about five minutes, I got to work..
I dusted, cleaned, wiped and any other form of cleaning you could think of with the volume of my music box turned to its highest and Saved my life by Sia playing. I cleaned as fast as i could but I would say I spent about two hours cleaning and dancing to rhythms of the songs as it changed. I was finally done after wiping the table. With a deep sigh of relief, I fell on my couch out of breath.
