They say what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
It may be true for some, but for others, it may not.
I have seen a child struggling to grow up amidst unvaforable conditions. He grow up into a formidable man who knows the value of hard work and perseverance.
I have also seen a single mother bravely get up every single day and push herself to make a living, as she needs to provide for her growing children. Although life has been harsh to her, she never gives up and continue her effort until all of her children grow up into brilliant people who understand the true meaning of strength, that can be seen everyday in the form of their very own mother.
And yet...
I have seen a strong, independent woman being crushed down by grief from losing her loved one.
I have also seen a great, loving father turning into an abusive alcoholic from the pressure of losing his job, his wife, his family.
They say what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
Despite the truth of such statement, I believe that people need courage to keep living, to fight for their future. Because sometimes, the stronger you are, the harder you get hit. The higher you climb, the more painful it will be when you fall.
Hence, I would like to liken myself to a sword. I would get stronger with every hit and would get sharper with every grind. I would survive the heat of fire. I would cut down anything in my path and open the way forward. I would protect what's important to me and destroy those that hinder my way.
They say what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
I will live. I will be stronger.
