Ten years ago, the first Gate opened, releasing monsters that bullets couldn't stop. Humanity survived thanks to Espers, living weapons of destruction, and Guides, the only ones who can keep an Esper’s mind from shattering under the weight of their own power. While Class A, B, and C Gates are now "routine" for the military, a Class S Gate remains a death sentence—unless an S-rank pair is present to close it.
