Hiro doesn’t expect much from the summer he spends at his grandparents’ isolated farmhouse. It’s quiet, repetitive, and familiar in a way that makes time feel like it’s barely moving at all. That changes when he meets Shiori, a shy girl staying in the same house who slowly pulls him out of his own head. They spend their days talking about small things and their nights struggling to sleep, and for the first time in a long while, Hiro starts to feel like he actually exists in someone else’s world. But Shiori is hiding something, and when she disappears without warning, leaving behind only a message that doesn’t fully make sense, Hiro is forced to chase after her into a reality that feels wrong in ways he can’t explain. The more he tries to understand what happened, the less stable everything around him becomes, and something inside him begins to change each time he refuses to give up. In the end, all he has left is a single question he can’t stop repeating to himself: if you were here… would any of this have happened at all?
