Wei Zhen, a grief-locked sound engineer in Singapore, has spent three years in a recording studio playing and replaying a dead partner's unfinished violin piece — survivor's guilt sealed over into obsession. When Taiwanese violinist Rayan Sen arrives on a six-month residency, the professional friction between them slowly becomes something Wei Zhen no longer knows how to shut out. The relationship deepens precisely as the past resurfaces: Rayan's estranged composer father arrives with an agenda, and a predatory producer attempts to commodify both their traumas. The film ends not with a grand gesture but with Wei Zhen finally completing the unfinished recording — letting it resolve — and in doing so, letting himself be present.
