“It’s morbin time!"
This catchphrase, popularized by the beloved character Michael Morbius in the movie “Morbius” was renowned for its originality and dramatic effect that it had on the movie. But what many do not know were the origins of this beloved catchphrase.
As a histomorbist, my goal of writing this article is to educate the public on the importance of this quote.
Prior to contemporary times, way back before the birth of Christ, to the start of human civilization in Mesopotamia, humanity was starting to become more advanced. Now a species more reliant on agriculture, the need for going around hunting for food gradually decreased. With the fact that there was a surplus of food, it was no surprise that humans were starting to develop a way to enhance their lives after finding out the they didn’t need to hunt to food all the time.
This lead to specialized jobs, like merchants, artisans, even government was created...
You get the idea.
However, one of these artisans seemed to have left a clue relating to the origins of the quote.
On a old looking stone tablet somewhere in the Middle East, archaeologist Cum Morbo found the following words from a series of vague scratches:
“Farming time"
“Cleaning time"
“Hunting time"
“Morbing time"
It was, no doubt, a revolutionary discovery. Soon after, Morbo was invited to many important centers of the world to talk about his discovery.
As a histomorbist, I sent an invitation to talk to him about his discovery, and miraculously, he accepted my offer.
This is the interview, written below.
Me: Good evening, Morbo. I hope that you’re doing fine. How’s the last few days been so far?
Morbo: Good, good. It’s been quite busy, to be honest, but I could manage. In fact, I’m pretty happy to talk about this subject.
Me: Wonderful! So, care to tell us about how you’ve found the evidence?
Morbo: There was this site, previously undiscovered, that sparked some interest among me and my colleagues. However, it contained mostly things that were mundane. It looked to be nothing more than an insignificant prehistoric village. But then, when stumbling among this small looking shrine of some sort, I found something. That something turned out to be the tablet with the “Morbing time” on it.
Me: That’s amazing! What do you think of your discovery?
Morbo: It was unbelievable. First of all, it seemed to be an ancient piece referencing a contemporary piece of fiction, so there was no way that I thought that the artifact was real. However, certain tests have shown that it’s gone through some weathering, signifying that it, indeed, is an old artifact.
Me: I’d also be in disbelief. But, compared to what you’ve been unearthing in the site, what do you think of it?
Morbo: Very significant. And if I were to guess, it would be for religious purposes, because of how it was situated in a building more ornately decorated than others. I’d assume that it was of some importance, and seeing the big statue in the middle made me think that it was some deity.
Me: Interesting! What do you think the deity is?
Morbo: Not sure, but it had sharp facial features, carnivorous teeth, and bared a uncanny resemblance to Jared Leto…It’s probably Morbius, but I’m…not sure. [laughs]
Me:[laughs] Well, I’m sure that was unbelievable as well. But do you think that the movie “Morbius” had anything to do with the artifact or not?
Morbo: Most likely the other way around. I’m not convinced that time-traveling prehistoric humans exist. [laughs]
Me:[laughs] Well, thank you for this interview. It’s been a pleasure talking with you.
As you can see, Morbius seems to be inspired by some ancient themes, right?
As a certified histomorbist, you are dead wrong.
These ancient humans have definitely traveled forward in time to take inspiration from the movie “Morbius.”
In the movie “Morbius,” stuff happens, including vampires, cars, people a movie, and the n word, but people don’t seem to agree with me.
(How are you going to disagree when you’ve likely never seen the movie yourself?)
Anyways, seeing the holiness of the movie, and especially that of the famed quote, these prehistoric people have taken inspiration from it and upon going back, started to develop civilization itself, making us, as a human species, the most advanced kind in all of planet Earth.
In other words, blame Morbius for the great empires that’s been on this Earth; blame Morbius for the industrial revolution—
Blame Morbius that I’ll have the power to take over this pitiful world in 1-2 years.
