In Wenchuan, China, 2008, a strict father(li jianhua) believes discipline is love, and a quiet son(li wei) learns to endure in silence. Crushed between bullying at school and harsh expectations at home, the boy never speaks of his pain. The father, blind to what his methods are destroying, pushes harder—believing a future can be forced into existence.
When the truth become clearere, it is already too late.
This is a story about love expressed the wrong way, words never spoken, and guilt that survives even after everything else is lost.
