Deep in the hills near a forgotten village in Manipur lies an abandoned bamboo forest no one enters after sunset.
The villagers call it Tarei Ningthou, “The Whispering Forest.”
For decades, people have disappeared there without explanation.
Some were later found wandering alone with no memory of where they had been.
Others were never found at all.
Locals believe the forest is cursed by an ancient spirit that mimics human voices to lure people deeper into the darkness.
Most dismiss the stories as superstition.
Until a group of young documentary filmmakers from Imphal decide to investigate the truth themselves.
Among them is twenty-four-year-old Lanchenba, a quiet videographer struggling with guilt after his younger brother’s mysterious death years earlier. Rational and skeptical, he refuses to believe in ghosts or spirits.
But from the moment they arrive in the isolated village, strange things begin happening.
Footsteps outside windows at night.
Voices calling people by name from empty
