*Brrrrring brrrinnng* Ling jumps awake nearly falling out of her bed to turn off her alarm. “Ugh. I’ve got to stop staying up all night trying to studying to pass these freaking classes. I only have a few weeks of school left and yet I’m acting like I just started college.” groaned tiredly Ling. She pushed her blanket back and got out of bed to go wake up her twin sister Lena. Although we both look alike we act completely different. I’m what people consider to be a one in a million because ever since our father was killed in a hit and run I’ve stepped up to be the caretaker of myself, my sister Lena and my mother, and still keep a 4.0 Gpa. I cook and clean for us because it seems like mom just checked out after losing the love of her life. She’s been stuck in her room for about 3 years now just laying in her bed staring either at the ceiling or the wall motionless. If it weren’t for me she would of been passed onto the next realm but just to keep Lena from falling apart I do my best to keep her healthy. The saying you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make em drink is actually a fact. My mom has days where she literally eats or drink nothing. She barely says anything to anyone anymore except me. I tap Lena on her foot since that was the closest part of body to me considering her head was in the corner of the wall in between the bed and the wall. She lightly snores unaffected by my touch. I tap her foot again and still no response except her light snores that fill the air. I walk over to my bed and grab my pillow and throw it at her causing her to jump up like a bomb alert just went off. “Ling you play too much. You know I’m not a morning person!” Lena yelled at me. “You know we have school honey bun and besides I know you wouldn’t miss a day to see Mr. Chu’s fine behind.” giggled Ling. Chu is this Senior Lena has been having a crush on since her 10th grade year but never had the guts to tell him she liked him. “Oh shut up Ling Ling...he probably doesn’t even know I exist.” Lena said brushing her hair out of her face. “Well if he does or doesn’t isn’t our problem we have bigger things to worry about. Did you finish your project for the end of the year for science?” Ling asked Lena in a concerned tone. Lena looks at Ling as if she spoke to her in a foreign language. Ling walks over to her closet and pulls out a large red poster and a stapled pack of paper neatly typed with Lena’s name on it and hands it to her sister. “I knew you weren’t going to do it or insist you had no idea what I was talking bout so I took the liberty of making sure my twin passed her project as well....you’re welcome...” Ling said as she got herself dressed to go make breakfast for the house. As Ling walked out of their room Lena looks at the project Ling had just given her. “I don’t need your help....we may look alike but I don’t need your help to become you....” wishpered Lena slowly getting herself dressed.
