Part 1

It was Saturday night when Kokomi Lindt took a flight straight to Tokyo from London. She had been living with her re-married mother in London for years, and now she was going to see her real father.

Through the long hours on the plane, she listened to her mp3 player, doze off, or just imagined some things to amuse herself.

It was her first time plan to stay in Japan for quite a while. She was excited!

Not only would she get the chance to meet up with her Japanese father, but also living up to her dream to become a mangaka.

She had been drawing since she was only 5. But she could never get satisfied from her works.

She once worked as a virtual cartoonist from the age of 10, until she was about to finish her education in Junior High School.

Choosing to stay with Kazuo Nishida, her father, was definitely not an easy decision.

Unfortunately, she had had to quarrel with her mom, until she was finally allowed to take that journey.

"Only until you finish your high school, ok?"

That was what her mother, Lorelai Lindt said.

"I understand. I can't be happier than this!" Kokomi replied to her mom rapidly, without a single thought.

She was willing to give up her highly comfortable life as a rich girl in London for this dream.

She had even self-studied so hard in the last 2 years to pass the Japanese language exams. There was no turning back now.

Several days later in Tokyo, April 2017..

"Otousan (\=dad)!" Kokomi called, as she was about to take off to school.

"Yes, my dear?" Kazuo responded.

"I'm going to school now. Don't miss me." she said with a playful grin.

"Alright. Goodluck on your first day!" Kazuo nodded his head once, as he waved his hand.

It all began now.

Am i ready for this?

Kokomi pondered, as she reached the school in a 10 minutes bus trip.

The gazes and murmurs around Kokomi at the new school started to make her feel a little nervous.

The students seemed to be attracted to get to know her. However, they might also hesitate to do so, due to her difference in some ways.

"Hey. Do you speak Japanese?" someone finally asked her.

"Ah, yes. I do." Kokomi replied, as she turned around and saw a guy.

"Oh wow. That's great! I thought you wouldn't be able to understand a thing i'm gonna say. What's your name?" the friendly guy asked.

"I'm Kokomi. And you?"

"Kokomi.. What's your surname? But, can i call you Kokomi-chan?" he asked, looking a bit puzzled.

"Kokomi Li-- I mean, Nishida. I'm Kokomi Nishida." Kokomi replied reluctantly, as she almost spoke of her british family name.

"Haha. What's with the attitude? Are you nervous, Kokomi-chan? That's cute." he said, with a good looking smile.

"What's your name?" Kokomi asked in return.

"I'm Hayate Kamei. Nice to know you, Kokomi-chan."

"Ah. Nice to know you too, Hayate-kun." she returned his smile.

"What class are you in? Do you wanna go with me to find the school news board?" Hayate offered.

"Sure, let's go."

And so, the two new students walked around until they finally found the classrooms list.

"Ah. It's a shame. We're in different classrooms." Hayate said, frankly showing his disappointment.

"Yeah. I'm in class 1-B. And you're 1-A. Don't be upset, i'll visit your classroom sometimes. It's also nearby the isle on the same floor anyway."

"Thanks, Kokomi-chan."

Since that day, Hayate Kamei was Kokomi's first Japanese friend.
