Brothers' Day

In the day after the Brother's Day, Me(Victor) , a fifteen-year old boy, got up from my bed and brushed my teeth and took a shower. I was ready to attend the school and there were no words to describe the feeling I was having.

Yesterday, It was the Brother's Day and it was in the weekend and nearly all of my friends got wishes from their crushes and it just left their heart broken as it was a mirror broken.

I was even expecting the wishes from my crush(Amelia) and waited for it, may be I am the only one who was to wait for the Brother's Day wishes from your crush. I was just laughing inside myself on thinking about it. I even had a perfect reply to say to her if she wish me.

But she didn't wished me till evening 6'o Clock and I was confused about it. Considering myself whether She even likes me or something happened to her. I was mix of feelings of Happy, Sad and Nervous.

After an hour, a call was ringing and I jumped off my feet and reached the phone to only found that it was my friend Ansel. I attended the call.

Me: "Hi Bro".

Ansel: "Hi bro, How things are?"

Me: "Not well Bro."

Ansel: "What happened Bro!? Did your crush wished you today!? Don't tell me it was!"

Me: "No no. She didn't even wish me Bro."

Ansel: "Who? Your Class crush? Senior crush? Junior crush? or any other that I didn't know?"

Me: "Bro. How can you be like that? I was worried about her and you are making fun out of me."

Ansel: "Okay! Don't be worried Bro. If she didn't wish you then why should it be like that she was in trouble? Even she might like you but waiting for you to confess."

Me: "How can you be confident?"

Ansel: "Because the Last year the same thing happened to my friend and he guessed it correctly and now he is in relationship with that girl. So, that's my advice to you man."

Me: "How can I believe the words and advice of a Singles' Leader for a relationship!?"

Ansel:" Yeah! It is in my bad fate to give advice to you today and I am regretting it already."

Me: "Yeah Bro! You said You would be joining our school next year and I am looking forward to it!"

Ansel: "Okay! I am looking forward to see Sister-in-law!"

Me: "Bye Bro!"

Ansel: "Bye!"

So, if she likes me then I should propose her tomorrow. Will that be appropiate? Who knows anyway? If I have my luck then I would even get into a relationship. A Single guy in the moods of Love.

And So, I was too excited and got ready at morning 7'o Clock. I went to my mom and said I would leave to school today early as she would reach the school early. My mom looked at me and gave me a look and asked " Even the gate won't be open and you are ready to go to school? What happened to you? Are you okay? or bumped your head into something?"

"Mom! I am turning over a new leaf and so I get ready to school too early. That's all", I replied.

I spend the next one hour infront of the mirror and doing my hair. My mom watched me and asked "What are you? Going for an Interview?". Yes, mom, I was to attend an interview but not for a job but for your daughter-in-law, I thought to myself.

After an hour, I went to my school on my bicycle. I stopped near a shop and bought a chocolate which is considered to be given to the girl during propasal. I bought it with more than half of my monthly pocket money.

I reached the School and saw her sitting alone on the Bench. There were very few student in the class since it was early to come to school. I went near to her and sat next to her. Since she was my best friend, there is no issue for me or her to sit next to each other but that day, I was really sweating under my shirt.

I grabbed the chocolate along with a letter out of my bag but again I left them inside the bag and turned over her.

Me: "Hey Amelia! Good morning!"

Her: "Hi Victor! Good Morning!"

Me: "May I ask you something?"

Her: "Okay! Go over."

Me: "Why didn't you wish me yesterday!?"

Her: "Oh that! You know what. Is it necessary to wish you? Is it the relationship between us? What we share is something special, A friendship. You are my friend not my brother! I didn't want to lose a good friend in search for a brother with whom I can't share some things as I can with a friend."

It stiked right into my heart and stood like a thunder but I manged to maintain my calm infront of her. I didn't think that the friendship would even be more joyful and bring more happiness than the relationship of boyfriend-girlfriend. I didn't propose her and shared the chocolate with my friends, of course even with her.

I was more than happy to be her friend than that of her boyfriend and I was over my fear of losing my friendship with her for the love. We would be best friends for our whole life.
