chapter one

Knock knock* 

Someone knocked on the huge old door that stood at the entrance of the room, my maid went and opened it, both of us were startled at the sight of Sir Hensley, he was the king's right hand man, a knight I suppose. 

He was dressed up formally in a blue vest, his shoulders were straight but with his head bent down a little low, as he entered, his ebony brown hair and alarming green eyes stood out, he clenched his fist on his chest bowed and looked my way with a straight posture and said

"Your majesty, the king has asked for your presence in his study" 

For the past 3 years never have I ever been called to have even a simple dinner with the so-called king who is my husband, and today for no particular reason I was called by the king. It was true that he was always out for war, I do believe that the wife is obliged to know when her husband returns from war safely with a victory, but I was never informed. 

'I don't know if you believe in fate or time travel, but it's painful, it's painful when you find yourself in a completely new place where everyone has isolated you for no apparent reason. Where everyone mocks you for the things you never remember you ever did and it's even more painful when you're on your own because you have no friends and family here, no loved one's just you alone' and 'it's even more painful when you try dying in this body but just go back in time, and then you have to tolerate the suffering all over again. 

Sir Hensley, was the only one to address me as "your majesty" with my rightful title... He clearly does not belong to this land, his eyes obviously made it clear he wasn't born in the kingdom of Athea. and yet he was loyal to the king till the end,  anyways he seems to be found of my maid Lily, he always seem to be helping her, so he is someone I have to protect. From what you say? You'll know in due time.'

"Her majesty will be there soon" Lily my maid said, as soon as sir Hensley left, she was nervous and suggested I changed my clothes before I go to meet the king but, I humbly declined the waste of time, putting on a long and heavy dress would create, and for the past 7 years that I have been here, I Pity this body.

It was as if we were the same person. I never felt uncomfortable being in this body, but I don't belong here, I'm sure she would've done things differently if the original owner of this body was still alive. I wonder what happened. I always wonder, but I never do anything to change things.

Lily checked whether my dress had any folds, and straightened it. 

"Your majesty will you be fine?" She asked and then adjusted my chest, 

"Don't worry Lily I won't let anything happen to me from now on."

'Why did I suddenly change my mind? I myself don't really know but it might've also been because...

I killed myself two times when I was brought into this life, into this unknown world, because I couldn't take it, the treatment, the way they tormented me! the hostility from the people around me, it was worse than my original life... but I was brought back exactly 3 years back all over again, twice, the day I marry Demetrius Damascus and on that day he leaves for war, So my souls or consciousness has lived here for the passed 6 years in this unknown kingdom and not even once was I allowed to step foot outside the Barrier, it was ironic considering the fact that the king who is my husband, who did not even want to have a meal with me, despised me and would rather see me dead wouldn't allow me to go out for my own safety. Both the lives! it was the same both the times!

We headed out of the room. The hallway was so quiet that I could hear my footsteps echo as I took a step forward. There were no guards, and there were no maids allotted on my behalf to take care of my place. I didn't need them anyways. I wasn't originally from here so, I did not understand the importance of guards and knights.'

"why does everything seem so serious?

Well it is, you see for me, I'll be able to see my husband's face for the first time in 7 years if you count the current year and including the past years that I've lived... but for the people I'll be meeting the king for the 3rd time in 3 years, And since no one knows why he suddenly called for me it's more frantic because people will think he is fed up of me, so he will execute me.

But I don't want to die again. Death isn't peaceful. I tried killing myself twice, once by drowning myself and the second time... let's not talk about the second time. But it was painful, suffocating and I can't even describe how it is, as the water entered my body I thought, did I really want to kill myself? 

As I was walking I knew I couldn't ask sir Hensly why his majesty called for me, and as it was, I had no position to ask him, it would be ridiculous.'

"The king, is in the study of her Majesty's palace, he has been there for a week now"

"Pardon?"
