02 . The Woman In Gray...

(Hello my dear readers....I am really so so so sorry for posting late story because of some personal issues. and I know I am too late this time but I promise I will continue posting stories on time..I hope u enjoy this chapter too..)

This story is based on real incident that happened with my little uncle's Friend...In this story his name is Edward Jones as shopkeeper...

One 1⃣ hot 🔥 day ☀ in summer 🌞 a shopkeeper 👨‍🌾 was working in his shop. Business was slow and there were no customer in the shop. He decided to go behind the counter and work on his account books. When he started taking interest in the books he felt someone walking in. He looked up. In the doorway stood a tall, thin woman, dressed in grey. "Grey as shadows" 🌑 the shopkeeper thought to himself.

She had a sad (Tʖ̯T), tragic face. Her big, dark eyes were full of tears. she moved slowly to the counter.

Shopkeeper stood up, looked at her kindly and said, "What can I do for you ma'am? "

Without speaking🗣 the woman 👩 pointed to a bottle of milk.

(bottle of milk 🍼🥛... Btw how many of you drink milk?? tell me in comments 💬... 😊 )

she took the bottle of milk, turned around, and wend out without paying 💰 or speaking 🗣 .

The shopkeeper was so touched by her great say eyes that he had no 🚫 courage to go after her and demand money.

The next day business was slow again. while dusting some of the shelves, the shopkeeper felt that she had come in the store again. He turned around. She was standing in the doorway with the same gray dress and the same great, sad eyes 👀.

he went 🏃 behind the counter and asked, "what can I do for you today ma'am? "

Just as before, she pointed to a bottle of milk 🥛🍼 . He lifted it down and handed it to her. She took it, turned around, and left the store.

That night he met with his two friends Mark Walesy and Joseph Campbell to play Cards. As he was dealing out the cards, he told his friends about the woman in gray. "She has a secret 😶 . I don't know what it is but I 'd like to know 🤔. "

The both friend of his listened to the whole story and then Mark said 💬 "We both will come to the shop tomorrow and pretend 🎭 that we're 👬 shopping. If she 👩 comes again, we'll follow her, We'll see what her secret is ." Josheph nodded and they all agree with what Mark said.

The next day, at about the same time 🕒 , the shopkeeper (Edward) was working and his both friends were stationed around (gathered around) as though they were shopping. Within few minutes, the woman in gray was standing in the doorway. She moved up to the counter.

Shopkeeper : " what can I do for you ma'am today?"

just as before, she pointed a bottle🍼 of milk. He handed it to her. She turned around and went out.

The shopkeeper closed his shop. The friends gatherwd together at the doorway. They were going to hang back (follow in a crowd) so she wouldn't know rltahtbshe was being followed. They all didn't need to worry about that. The woman was moving down to the main street so fast, they could barely keep her in sight. Moving right out of the end of town and down a country lane, she went on and on until she reached the Cemetery (graveyard).

After a time she reached a rise in the hill, stood there like a shadow for a moment against the sky, then disappeared.

On that spot was a new grave, The grass hadn't even begun to grow ☝ over the freshly 🍃 turned earth. On the tombstone this was written :

Buried here, a young mother and her infant 🚼 child 👶 who have died 💀⚰ of a fever 🤒.

The friends were all shocked ⊙▂⊙, standing around, trying to figure out what it was they had just seen 👀 , When they heard 👂 a sound coming from the grave. It was long mournful(sad) baby's wail (cry) . Joseph ran 🏃 for find a shovel and began to dig... Mark and Edward took a piece of Broken tombstone and started to help Joseph.

After some time 🕒 they exposed the pine casket . Edward reached down and opened it up.

Inside was the women in gray. She was dead 💀.. but beside her body there was another casket.. Edward take it out and open it as well... In that casket it was that woman's baby..

It was alive. It had been in a coma when the mother died and was taken to be dead as well. The shopkeeper picked up the baby and he saw something that made his blood run cold. There, in the grave, were three empty milk bottles.

After that, they covered the grave over and found a home for the baby... The folks down in the Alabama town 🌇 never saw the women in gray again... They say it's because she knows her baby is safe.
