“N-no I’m not.. where am I exactly?” I asked him. The more I stared at his figure the more I grew weary. I knew from the first glance he was a werewolf but his aura feels so different.
It feels stronger. I shivered at the thought. He came closer and stood right in front of me.“Your in my territory.” He spoke in a husky deep tone. His body shape was very muscular and he had visible tattoos on his arms and probably his chest well not like I know.
But it was his sharp glare that stood out the most. We just stood there and locked eyes with each other as if it was a battle to declare dominance, and he was winning. He was testing me, to see how strong I really was I could feel it. “Who are you?” I said breaking through the thick air of silence. “Malikai.” His tongue rolled off at every letter. “Malikai.” I repeated.
“I’m Maria, Maria Lockwood.”
“Look thank you for saving me and I’m feeling quite fine so I’ll just save you the trouble and get going.” Anxiously I get out of bed but immediately felt myself about to collapse. I close my eyes tightly embracing for impact but I felt no pain. “How long are you going to let me hold you?” I opened my eyes and jumped back.
I removed my hands quickly looking away from his gaze. “Do you really have a place to go anymore?” He asked. I gave he a questionable look. “The way you looked when we found you wasn’t too pretty, you know?” I stayed silent.
“Keep playing the silent game if you want to, your free to go if you want.” He gestured his hand up to the door. No matter how arrogant I act he was right. In one corner stood my conscience and the other stood my fate. There was no way I could go back home now, those bastards are probably looking for me now. In a walking target. I want to fight my fear like I was taught to but I refuse to listen this time let me just wait. God has already written my fate, let’s see what I will get. “I’ll stay.” I agreed.
We went out for a moment then a few minutes later came back with a hand full of clothes. “Put this on, you’ll feel more fresher.” “Thanks.”
He turned to exit the room but I spoke up. “Why are you helping me?” He looked at me this time his gaze was less aggressive and more passive. “Just a hunch maybe I’m wrong, we’ll see soon.” And he left leaving me to process what he just said. “What does he mean “just a hunch” something about him feels different I need to be careful around here.
I don’t plan to stay here forever just until I make a plan about what to do next. Honestly, I couldn’t really call my home a home even before this happened. I still need to get some important stuff back tho.
“I guess we will wait and see soon.”
