college trip day 2(part two)

"My name is Samyra..."

"Your name is nice, princess. Just like you."

Sam: "I just told you my name. Why are you still calling me princess?"

"Because you are like that to me. You should get changed, princess."

Sam: "Excuse me...?"

(He smirks.) "I can see through your shirt as well."

Sam: "Huh... See you soon, princess? Wait... (Wraps her arms around herself) you can't leave like that! I have so many questions. Um... how about we have lunch together here in my tent?"

"Sounds good. I'll come."

Sam: "Wait, I don't even know your name yet!"

"Alan. My name is Alan."

Sam: "Okay, Alan. What should I do to call you?"

Alan: "Hmm... shout out my name five times. I'll come before that." (Turns and leaves.)

He just left like that. What did he mean by 'shout out my name'? He doesn't live in this forest, does he? And I'm pretty sure he's the one who dragged me. Ugh... I have so many questions... only he can answer. So I'll make lunch quickly to talk.

(Goes inside to prepare lunch.) "Hmm... let's see what we have here. With these ingredients, I can only make a simple dish. I hope he likes it. I'm not a meat lover... well, except for fish. I don't eat other meat, so I just got eggs and veggies. I'm pretty sure everyone's having a meat party over there 'cause they're all meat lovers except me. That's why Sir Henry got these groceries especially for me."

"Phew, everything's done. Simple yet delicious. Okay, time to shout his name."

(Goes outside.) "Alan... Alan... Alan..." (shouting)

"Why isn't he coming? Okay, then I'll try two more times. A... Whoa... Lan..."

(Alan jumps down from the tree. Sam is shocked.)

Alan: "Sorry to startle you, princess."

Sam: "Startle me? You just gave me a heart attack!"

Alan: "Don't say that, princess. I'm truly sorry. Are you okay?"

Sam: "Just tell me one thing: how long have you been up there? And don't tell me to shout your name if you're gonna be like this..."

(Alan looks down with sad eyes.)

Sam: "Now don't make that sulky face. Let's go inside... I have so many questions."

(He cheers up.)

"I won't do that again. Wait, what's in that box?" (sniffs) "Smells nice."

Alan: "I cannot come empty-handed, princess. I brought lunch as well. Hope you like it."

Sam: "You brought lunch too? I told you I'd cook. Anyway, we'll have variety. Let's eat!" (Opens the box.) "Wow, Alan, you made this?" (tasting) "It's so yum... sooo delicious!"

Alan: "I'm glad you like it. Actually, I was worried... what if you don't eat fish?"

Sam: "What? You don't eat meat? Me either!"

Alan: "I'm glad we have that in common."

Sam: "Yeah, and this salmon is so fresh and rich. I love salmon fried rice, and this has become my favorite... Wait a minute, you didn't catch this fish from the river, did you?"

Alan: "You're right, princess. I caught it from the river. There aren't many varieties... just prawns, crabs, salmon, calamari, like that."

Sam: "Wait, so why did you drag me?"

Alan: "How did you know it was me? Your eyes were closed, princess, when I dragged you."

Sam: "I'd recognize your voice."

Alan: "You were swimming so fast, princess. If I hadn't dragged you, you would've gone straight into the cave."

Sam: "The cave?" (surprised) "I didn't see any cave there."

Alan: "There's a cave behind the waterfall. If I hadn't seen you, the force of the water would've dragged you in."

Sam: "Wow, I can't believe I swam out of danger thanks to you."

Alan: "I'm glad nothing happened to you, princess. But the irony is, even though the cave is right behind the waterfall... not a single drop of water goes in."

Sam: "That... is irony. But wait, what? How is that even possible?"

Alan: "You heard the howling at night, right, princess? You thought it was from the woods, but it wasn't. It was from the cave."

Sam: "I... I did hear the sound. So it was from the cave? No wonder it was echoing. Huh, wait... I'm sure the others heard it too. Why hasn't anyone called me yet?"

Alan: "That's because they didn't hear it."

Sam: "How is that even possible? God, this is giving me chills..."

Alan: "Your friends are in a different direction from here."

Sam: "I'm confused..."

Alan: "Here, see." (explaining) "This is where your tent is. You're close to the river area... that's why you hear it clearly. You're actually going across, so you think you're not that close."

Sam: "But I go straight..."

Alan: "You're going your right-straight direction, not exact straight."

Sam: "But how can I go straight? It's just the end of the road, I guess..."

Alan: "It's not, princess. If you go straight, you'll reach the river area."

Sam: "Just like that?"

Alan: "Just like that, princess."

Sam: "Oh, I didn't... Wait, how do you know this much?"

Alan: "I live here, princess."

Sam: "From how long?"

Alan: "Since I was young. I have a tree house."

Sam: "A tree house? Cough cough!"

(Alan gets up immediately to pat her back.) "Are you okay, princess?" (worried) "One at a time... you'll choke."

Sam: "Sorry, I got excited hearing about a tree house. Can I see it? Can I come to your tree house? I've always wanted one, but I haven't seen one, so can I...?"

Alan: "Hmm... anytime, princess."

Sam: "How about tomorrow?"

Alan: "Sure, princess."
