Chapter 2 : One month Vacation

It was the morning of the second last day of school before the three month vacation time period and everybody was excited, especially the 12th grade learners. It was their the second last vacation they got before the next semester.

Alex POV

Ugh I just can't wait for this day to be over and it didn't even start yet. I wanna go back home and snuggle back under my covers with a hot cup of coco and binge watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S, but no I have to go to school since it's the second last day. I feel like something special is going to happen today but I won't know until it happens. I'm walking through the hallway to my locker and I pass him. You might be wondering whose him? Well him is this boy I've had a crush on since kindergarten and the worse part was that we were neighbors and his parents and my parents are like best friends so that made us become best friends. Gosh he is so handsome, no gorgeous, ugh I just can't describe him but he be looking fine tho. Anyway when I walked by him I couldn't help but stare as he just walked by me without even saying 'hi' or ' good morning '. Still like him though, but I guess I'm not even in his league because he just walked pass. Yes we're in the same class and yes we sit at the same lunch table but that's besides the point. The point is that I'm clearly not his type and just one of his nerdy childhood friends.

Ash POV

I'm so tired of school already. I didn't even want to come but getting dragged out of bed by your older brother is not fun. He literally took my blanket off me and pulled me by my ankles out of my bed. Tsk piece of sh*t. Anyway I've just walked pass the most beautiful, cute, adorable, pretty, and did I mention cute. She's just drop dead gorgeous and she's one of my childhood best friends. I can't even say 'hi' or 'good morning ' to her because I'm too nervous. What if I said something stupid? What if she finds me stupid?I just hate that I can do almost everything correctly and with a whole lot of confidence but when it comes to her I'm like a dog with it's tail between it's legs. She probably likes someone else since I'm clearly not her type and just one of her nerdy childhood friends.

3rd person POV

The bell rings for homeroom and the two make their way to class. Alex enters first with Ash not far behind her. Their homeroom teacher enters the class shortly after everyone was seated.

"Good morning class, I have a huge surprise for all of you but it has to wait till assembly." said the lively Mrs Anderson.

" Ughh" groaned the whole class.

"Anyways, back to the register" said Mrs Anderson after an eye roll at the class.

At Assembly

Principle Jenkins walked up to the podium and spoke into the microphone about how smoothly the midterm exams went and other not really important things.

"Ok so since tomorrow is the last day of school we will be dismissing at 10:30 and I hope you'll all enjoy your vacation" Mr Jenkins said ending the assembly.

Mrs Anderson quickly rushed up to the podium.

"Um can all the Senior year students please stay behind we have something to tell you guys."

After the other students went to class while the Senior students stayed behind.

" So hi everyone, I have some news that you all would probably love to hear so let me just say it. Tomorrow morning you'll have to arrive early at school with two packed bags of summer clothing and ONLY TWO. OK then, you can have a small bag with you on the bus that will be taking you to the airport. On the way to the airport you will each be given a plane ticket and who you're roommates are going to be. All of this is because you all will be going on a sponsored trip to Athens, Greece, this summer vacation for doing exceptionally well in the midterm exams. Thank you, you're dismissed."

The whole crowd of senior students erupted into an applause and eventually left.

The bell for lunch rings and everybody storms out of their classes because there's a special meal the cafeteria is serving. Alex walks to her locker taking out books for the next classes she has.

"ALEX! HEY!"

Alex turns her head to see who's calling her name. Unsurprisingly it was Kelly who does this everyday. He's was waving her hand high with a cup of Starbucks coffee in the other.

" Hey Kelly. What's up" Alex says as soon as Kelly gets closer to her.

"Oh you know the usual " says Kelly.

"Oh okay, anyway let's get to lunch, Daniel probably made a reservation for one of the lunch tables like always." Alex says and grabs Kelly's free hand and drags her to the cafeteria.

They got to the cafeteria, looking for familiar faces when they saw Becky waving them over. They made their way to the lunch table and saw a reservation stand on the table.

Alex and Kelly laughs when they see that Daniel actually made a reservation for a lunch table.

" He always does this." says Alex

" Of course I always do it, I don't want those things stealing our spot." says Daniel

" Um Daniel, those things are people and your fellow students be a bit more nicer will you." says Becky with an eye roll.

"Whatever" Daniel replies.

" I see we got another reserved lunch table Daniel" says Ash amusingly.

Daniel flips Ash off and looks away. Ash just smilies and takes a seat next to Alex.

"Hey AJ ( Alexis Jane)"

"Hey AD ( Ash Damon)"

" Hello to you too Ash, since Alex is the only one receiving 'hellos' " says Kelly sarcastically with a smirk on her face.

"Why don't you guys just date each other since you only greet each other and act so lovey dovey during lunch while the rest of us singles have to suffer?" says Becky with a smirk on her face.

The three musketeers of love look at the two knowingly wiggling their eyebrows at them while they turn away embarrassed and flustered.

" I can't wait for the vacation, my dad organized the whole thing you know" says Daniel.

"Figures, your dad is the only one who would sponsor a whole trip to a whole other country with everything already paid for." says Kelly

" The only thing I'm sad about is how we only get to take two bags for this whole summer vacation." says Becky with a pouty face.

"Well you can't look good all the time Becky, let loose a little bit ,ok?" says Alex.

"Fine but if you dress better than me I will throw you off a cliff" says Becky menacingly.

"Becky you know Alex has no fashion sense or taste at all so you don't need to worry about her dressing better than you." replies Ash.

Alex elbows him in the ribs and gives him a death glare the says, " Next time I won't be so nice."

While holding his ribs Ash replies," Yes ma'am."

"Good" responds Alex and continues talking with the others.

" Oh guys, my dad's having a gala tonight and I was wondering if you guys could come since he's inviting people I don't really know and I need company." says Ash.

" Ok " says the four in unison.

" I understand if you guys don't wanna- wait y'all said yes?" asks Ash.

" No we never said yes , you imagined it." says Alex sarcastically.

" Oh" says Ash.

Daniel gives Ash a friendly slap on the back and laughs saying," She's playing with your feelings dude, don't worry we're coming."

Later that day in the group chat with only Becky Daniel and Kelly in

( Becky)Queen B: Hey guys, I've got something to tell you.

( Daniel)Blackmail: Spill I can smell the tea🍵

(Kelly)Kpop Looney: Yes spill.🍵

Queen B : Well I was thinking why don't we tell double A( Alex and Ash) that we can't make to the party tonight and spy on them from a far and see if they confess their love for each other.

Blackmail: I love your thinking😏

Kpop Looney: Brilliant idea, maybe they'll finally start dating and then we can stop worrying about them and focus on our own love life's

Queen B: Yeah oh and Kelly let's go to Alex's house and make her into the most beautiful thing Ash has every seen while Daniel you go and make Ash into the most handsome thing Alex has ever seen. Oks👍?
