Prologue

Time has rote many things: traditions, families, beliefs and many more. People, humans, have come to a change as the course of time. Things change, people change for the better or for the worst. Some Legacies have come to a stop or a pause. Stories would no longer be told. This is how the world changed at the course of time.

“Genie, I wish for the fairest maiden in the land. With hair black as coal, eyes bright as the stars and lips, red as an apple” the blonde prince of Shemrock, prince Stuart Goldinne, said to his trust sidekick and advisor. His advisor sighed at his idiocy. It was like this everyday in the huge castle that was perched on the highest hill of the kingdom. There was never a day that his boss, the prince, would give a rest.

“Stuart, may I please remind you that I am not a genie and that no maiden like exists” Rogue, the advisor and sidekick, sighed as he looked up from his small pamphlet with written schedules. He no longer called the prince ‘his majesty’ or ‘your highness’ as it ill-fitting for the blonde. He’s stupid, he thought and say. “And if there is, you have to journey through time for that. After all, we don’t have the best cosmetics at the moment”

The blonde prince grumbled in defeat. He was disappointed to know that such maiden did not exist and that his advisor was telling him that he was stupid. Which he was at the moment. With a sigh, he trudged down the throne room and out, leaving a calm Rogue.

“Well that was interesting”

After the great flood, the tower of Babel and the time of Christ, kingdoms continued to rise in every part of the world. Tribes and colonials were forming. Kings and queens reigned the land and everything was starting to form.

My dear Josefenne,

I have wondrous news! Today, I was chosen to be the first king of my kingdom. How I wish you were here to be my queen. But alas, you have disappeared into nothing. Where have you go my dear? Did the war tear us apart as you said to me that one starry night. How I wish to have you here in my arms. Our child running near the fireplace and you and I by the couch watching the small thing. We would then later on see the child with someone special and our legacy would go on. How I wish to see that day come. My dear Josefenne, send a sign to where you are. For you are the only woman of my dreams.

A kingdom: big or small. A place for all. The kingdoms were a home for migrants form far of places. Kings would rule with an iron fist or with a heart. It all depends on them how they ruled. People were happy: children would play, music was heard, laughter echoed. It was a paradise.

My dearest Josefenne,

Today would be the last day I would write to you. For my father has arranged a marriage between me and a princess of a far of place. She would become my queen by then and we would need to have a male heir. I am disgusted with the news. I only want you as my bride and queen. I want to see our little one grow right in front of our eyes. Josefenne, tell me where you are?

Rosegold. A simple name for a tiny kingdom. For generations the heir and off springs has been a boy. Doctors and sorcerers would claims it to be a curse. A curse fallen by a woman of false love. Was it true or was it a hoax? No one could tell. Kings would send a scholar to foreign lands just to lift it but all have failed to do so. A child, a girl to be perhaps, would bring a change to the kingdom.

“It’s a girl! “ the royal doctor announced in glee, holding a new born infant girl. The queen, laying on a royal bed, panted in relief. A girl. A female as an heir to the kingdom. People would be delighted to hear this. The king smiled warmly at the new born. It was a special day for him his wife, for the royal court, the whole kingdom. Finally! A girl! They were blessed with a girl.

“I name you Rosegold. After the humble kingdom you were born in” the queen panted, shallow breaths leaving her. The king smiled at his wife.

“Rosegold, Princess Rosegold”
