Chapter 2: The Maiden Who Plays the Sheng

The young celestial fox finally open his black dazzling eyes. Seeing the azure sky from above, sounds of singing lovebirds nested above the branches.

Coldness coming from the wind, and the lovely flowers still growing, lush moisture from the grass completely covered the ground. MingYue, looking around these beautiful scenery caught his attention.

This world, is it the human realm? The world where humans live? He thought. Getting himself up, MingYue lower his head and saw an object shines and it was hanged on his slender neck. He touched the tear-shaped jade pendant. But why Yi Xing gave him this, it was in Yi Xing's possession when they were young.

He walked down from the mountains, his appearance as the celestial reveals every beauty on him. His long raven but silky hair fluttered by the wind, his beautiful rosy lips, his white and porcelain smooth skin.

As he passed by, suddenly MingYue heard a melodic sounds coming near him. Looking around and caught the sight of a young girl playing 'Sheng' beautifully, MingYue who was astonished by the sounds seen that the girl looking at him.

And after a few moments, she halted with her instrument, her eyes looks exactly like an euphoria, unlike her messy appearance. The ponytail that attached were loose and seeing the hair strands more messing up.

Her pink long robes smitten by the mud, and ragged on. MingYue, could only watched the young girl smiled at him, and twitched his brows found it more disturbing for him.

"Young Master, it seems you're going to the Shui Town?"

MingYue ignored her words, fixing her instrument and placing it on her back, using with the long blanket.

Until they reached the Shui Town in time. People as usual were doing their business. Children are playing in the grounds with their playmates cheerfully.

MingYue with the maiden beside him he would have asked that this little young girl here, knew something about this town but he choose not do it after all.

He went inside of an inn, sat on the occupied seat. After following MingYue all the way, the girl seat towards him, he placed her things on the table.

MingYue "......."

Why this human, following me all the way here? Is this how humans interacted with another?

"Young Master, how may I help you?" MingYue looked at the voice coming from an old man, and his eyes turn to the another person.

"Young Master, is this your companion here?" Then pointed her using his index finger. When MingYue turn to answer his question, suddenly a fist slammed on his table.

"Yes! I am..." the young girl stood up from her seat and proudly answered, placed her hand into her chest.

Waiter,"...."

MingYue, "....."

She pouted her lips, looking at them and turned back to her seat. MingYue couldn't believed this attitude coming from this midget with him. He had no time to answer the old man.

"O-okay, I see" the old man force himself showing his smile.

"Young Master, your friend here..you should protect her at all cost. It seems you're new here to this Town"

"Eh, what do you mean? I could protect myself here" the young girl protested. Seeing his skirt staining the table cloth, the old man just maintain his calm appearance.

"Have you heard about the Demon who lurks at night and stealing every maidens here in this town?"

"Nope, I haven't heard that"

"Now, that you have heard..be careful on your way"

"Hmm, should I be scared?"

"...."

"Aww..I'm hungry!"

"....."

MingYue having heard this conversation, only closed his eyes. Then, the old man returned to his kitchen.

"Young Master, my apologize for following your presence here. I'm He Qiong." He gladly introduced herself showing her beaming smile.

"Human, the reason why you were following because you don't know your way to the Town?"

Another pout showing on He Qiong's smooth face, "How mean~, I have a name and it's He Qiong!"

MingYue never mind to her ranting and still continue to ask, "Human, I don't have the time here..so don't follow me"

"I've told you, it's He- "

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!" A piercing sound came and echoed outside the inn. MingYue alarmed and rushed forward to the entrance without hesitation. He Qiong just followed him.

A shadow lurking at the top of the roof and another maiden was captured, as the moon illuminating on it's shadow. MingYue, tightly gripped and pulled out his sword.
