Prologue

Liu Zhefan hasn't always had it easy, but it hasn't prevented him from pursuing his dreams. He's gone a long way since growing up in a little village in Wuhan and went to college there. Zhefan can't help but wonder why he's become the exception to his "no dating" rule in the first place.

Questions about his current connection, as well as memories of his previous love and a link to the past he left behind, overwhelm him. He was a guardian and a kindred spirit. Everything Zhefan has established with Chengfeng is jeopardized when Huang Xinjie reappears.
