The Wounds Of Heaven

The Wounds Of Heaven

Prologue and Chapter 1

I looked at him, his face glowing with happiness as he crossed the floor to me. I held out my arms and he ran into them. His breath light and feathery. His head came down to kiss me but instead of coming up to let him kiss me I buried my face into the side of his neck and kissed his jawline. His breath wooshed out, his hands came up to cradle my face. My hands were placed on his chest and felt the way his muscles worked themselves as his chest rose and fell as he breathed. I saw the muscles flex and contract tracing the muscles as they worked. I closed my eyes and breathed in the heated scent of him. Shrugging off the sense of drunken desire I tried to keep a clear head but the intoxicating smell of his body poured off and soaked into every fiber of my being and I couldn’t tell where he began and where I ended. I knew I couldn’t last much longer as he played with me. His body forced me to answer him with a cry of pleasure. I didn't want this but yet I did.

"Why me?!" I screamed in the inside.

Trying to pull myself from his loving embrace back into my bubble, I yanked back and hit the wall which somehow he had managed to put me against and everything went dark.

Imagining things

Bolting upright I glanced around me unsure of where I was and groaned with relief. I was still at home in my bed and safely tucked in. It had all been a dream. And a very vivid one at that. I put my head in my hands and tried to calm my racing heart down. Pulling the covers back over my head I looked at the starry ceiling and rolled over onto my side to see what the time was and put a hand over my eyes in despair. 6:30 the blue numbers read. It was 1 hour before I needed to be up just enough time to go back to sleep and get a few more minutes of good sleep. I shrugged my shoulders and hulled myself out of bed. The cold hard floor assaulted my warm feet and I yelped softly. Frowning at the hardwood floor in disgust, I turned off my alarm and moved around my apartment with slow sleepy steps. Rubbing my eyes I turned on the kitchen light blinking as the bright light blinded me.

Making my way over to the cupboards, I grabbed a cup, filled it with water from the tap, and drank it down with long deep droughts. The cool water refreshed my senses and washed away the drowsiness that had been clouding my mind.

I wandered to the living room and turned on the light, a soft soothing yellow glow that came from the lamps that were placed meticulously across the area. The biggest lamp in the left-back corner closest to the window illuminated the outside’s dark garden. Pulling the curtains open a little wider I peeked outside and saw a flash of dark green. Swiveling my head towards the movement, all that moved was the lilac bushes blowing in the early morning breeze, but no sign of the dark green thing that moved. Warily I watched for 5 more minutes and opened the curtains wider and left the window. I walked away not knowing that I was being carefully watched by fierce silver eyes.

Stifling a yawn I trudged back to the kitchen and grabbed fruit loops from the cabinet. (Yes I know that I’m an almost grown man and I still eat fruit loops but they are sooo good so I kinda just keep getting them so no judging.) Pulling a bowl down from the top cabinets I poured in my cereal and then my milk. Capping the milk and putting it back into the refrigerator I turned to go back when I saw the flash of dark green again this time outside my dining room window. Shoving the door shut I raced to the dining window and feverishly looked outside. My eyes darted around looking for some sign of the thing that was racing across my lawn. Tracing the rose garden for the dark green creature. But again all I saw was the swaying of the budding roses.

Sighing I glanced back outside and walked back into the kitchen. Throwing a look at the outside again I saw the dark green figure come out. Slowly moving backward so that I would seem like I was moving forward but not. Slamming my hands down onto the window sill I faced outside to see what it was and saw startled silver eyes fill my head. Then they were gone. Shaking my head I looked back, it was gone and all that was left to signal the presence was the moving of the rose bushes.
