Chapter 2

My consciousness went back when I felt that someone is shaking me.

"Big sister! Big sister!" someone called.

I tried to open my eyes, but when the glimpse of sunlight bursts upon my gaze, I closed my eyes immediately.

I moaned and turn sideways to avoid the sunlight. Someone forcefully opened my eyes. I jumped off the bed because of shock.

"Who are you? What are you doing in my room—" I cut my words, for an instant, I roam my eyes around.

"Where am I? Where are the maids?" I asked the girl, she looks at me, and pricks my finger.

"Big sister! Did you dreamt about getting rich again?" her tone sounds worried.

I raised a brow to her. "What are you talking about? I'm the young miss of the Mallari family, the world's richest family? Who are you!? I don't know you! Get out of here!" I shouted and exclaimed.

She walks through the door sobbing. Before she can touch and turn the doorknob, someone did that to her, and a lady in her fifties came in with a sense of anger and confusion.

"Gelley? What happened?" she asked the little girl and looked at me.

“Gellay what did you do to your younger sister?” she glares at me, waiting for my reply.

"Huh? Who's my— Argh! Are you guys joking around?" I irritatedly said and walks out of the room.

Maybe grandpa's home and ordered this nonsense around.

I stopped walking on a wooden floor when I suddenly remembered what happened to me. I nervously checked my body and it seems fine and had no scars, not to mention these ragged clothes I'm wearing that makes me look like a lowly commoner.

"Angela Agustin!!" a voice from the back, yelled.

Judging from her voice, I'm sure that she's the lady earlier. I didn't move for an instant. Her voice sounds like a roaring lion that gives me shivers down my spine.

"I dare you to turn your back from me again and I'll let you clean the flour house, all by yourself!" she warned.

"Excuse me? You'll let me clean what?" I let out a sigh of disbelief. "How dare you! Who are you to give me your order?"

"Gellay!" her face darkens while staring at me.

"Cristin, Gellay! What's with the ruckus?" a tall man appeared at the door

"Discipline your daughter well, Cedric. She's getting more spoiled," the lady turns her back from us and walks away.

"Hey! Sweety!" the man put her arms on my shoulder that forced me to look at his serious stares. "What happened to you?"

I finally realized what is going on. They thought that I am Gellay or Angela Agustin, their daughter.

Is this my afterlife?

"May I know what year is it today? And also what is this place called?" I asked him.

"Are you okay?" I just gave him a lazy nod. "Today is the fourth day of April and we are living in the Plaedin Kingdom," he casually said.

His words were like a stabbing knife on my chest, that made me breathe hardly. I discovered Janine and William's affair on the last day of March and I got drunk till four AM, and so I got an accident on the first day of April. It means, I was sleeping for days and then...

Why am I here? D-did I travelled into the other dimension!?

I suddenly sat on the ground when I felt that my knees are shaking.

"C-commoner? Are you s-serious?" I tried to talk calmly but my voice cracked that made me stutter.

"I thought you're proud for being what you are?" he chuckled. "C'mon, you're always babbling that you're lucky to have this peaceful life and a loving family. Stand up and help me with the bakery."

I was left openmouthed, following him like a zombie. We entered a small shop, or to be more specific this is a bakery shop without even a single buyer.

So this is my life now? Same level as a beggar in my world.

"What are we going to do here?" I asked.

"You'll sell this bread," he pointed his index finger to the pieces of bread on the counter table.

"What I mean is, why are we here? It seems that this shop is lacking customers. I think this shop will go bankrupt the next day, better sell it before that happens," I suggested, roaming my eyes inside this small shop.

I groaned when somebody hits my head. "Ouch! Am I wrong?" I complained, stroking my head.

"You silly! We can't sell this shop. Even if we can, nobody wants to buy it. And we still need to run errands for our daily needs. Don't worry someone will come over here... sometimes," he gasped and walk inside the baking area.

"Yeah, I hope so," I sighed before sitting on the wooden chair behind the counter.

After waiting for more than an hour, my body was exhausted from sitting too long so I decided to take a walk around.

Upon walking around, my feet stopped by the table behind the window. There I saw two photos of their family. They were wearing clean clothes and were smiling genuinely. While the other picture... Cedric was hugging his wife while Angelica and the original Angela are hugging the two of them.

Well, I envy them. Even though they live a poverty life, still, they found real happiness from each other. Unlike me, both of my parents are workaholics, forgetting the existence of their daughter. Luckily, grandpa was there, standing by my side, gives me love, scolding me when he found out that I have been drinking and partying, and most importantly he understands me the most. And too bad to say that it's unfortunate to lose that two b*****d in my life.

But now... Can I survive in this kind of life? Can I return safe and sound to where I came from? I hope so. I just wish that all of this are just a dream.

"Hey. Hey! Hey!!!" I was back in reality when somebody shouts.

"Me?" I pointed to myself.

"I want to buy that bread."

The pieces of bread are all packed, and so I just need to give their order easily, also the price was written on the small note that has been paste on the cover. After giving her the bread she immediately gave me the payment.

"Enjoy your bread miss!" I smiled at her. I'm just happy that, I finally sold a pack of bread for the first time.

"Yeah, my dogs will surely like this dirty breads," upon hearing those words, my face darkens, and the smile faded away for an instant. "I'm not in a mood to fake with you so you better shut up," she rolled her eyes.

"Pardon me?" I tried to be calm.

A sarcastic laugh comes from her mouth makes me want to peel her alive. "It seems that you are having a partial hearing loss. Sorry for that. Should I repeat it?" she acted like she's thinking, but I knew that she's just acting like that to piss me off. "Your bread sucks, that only dogs want to eat it," she higher her voice then taps my cheeks.

This situation seems familiar. It's the same as the fight when I was in high school in New York.

An evil smiled was drawn on my face. "Same as goes to you, your attitude sucks more than your f****ng face!"

She was shocked. "Are you insulting me just now, Angela?" she unbelievably asked.

Has she known the original Angela? Well, I don't care at all. She's gone and I'm different from her so, I'm sorry for not holding it anymore.

"Anyway! Thanks for buying, hoping that your dogs will be satisfied or you'll be the next food to them. And correction, I wasn't insulting, I was giving you a hint about yourself, consider me as a talking mirror. Bye!" I waved and faked a smile.

"Just you wait!" she walked out of the shop with a pissed face.

I laughed out of success. She has a thick face to say those words in front of me.

"Apologize to her next time. Don't do that kind of thing again," just an instant, the smile of victory fade away.

No way!

"Can you hear me!? Don't do that again, she looks rich and we can't afford to mess with someone like her," she exclaimed.

I clench my fist. I am more powerful than her in terms of money in my world. How can I, Rauzella Mallari, the young mistress of the Mallari family bow my head into a hypocrite b**ch?

"That'll never happen. She's too high about herself that's why she deserves that," I uttered.

"Angela, can't you understand? This place is unfair for the people like us."

"No, it's not! This place isn't unfair but those people are," I look at Cristin the original Angela's mother.

"You know that our principle is not applicable in this kingdom. Rich people are stepping poor ones, that's why they rise higher."

I finally understand now but they lack something very important. It's equality as a human. I'm about to utter a word when she opened her mouth.

"Can you borrow Gege from Mrs. Luciana? We need her to clear the mice on our flour house," she

requested.

I just nod. "But wait! Where is Mrs? Luciana's house located?" I asked, she made a confusing look.

She pointed her finger somewhere. "That red roof house is where Mrs. Luciana lives. What happened to you? You're acting weird since this morning?"

"I'm just forgetful nowadays," I scratch my nape and grinned my teeth.

I walked out of the shop and followed the path to that house. Because of that roof, my mind keeps thinking hilarious stuff, like about she's fond of Sakuragi that's why she painted her roof that way.

Hilarious isn't it?

I reached an antiquated gate, I was about to find the doorbell but I remembered that this is not the Philippines nor New York, so probably they don't have a doorbell. I kicked the gate instead.

"Mind your attitude miss! Mrs. Luciana hates people who treated her things badly," a baritone voice from the back spoke up gently.

I turn my head to face him. He's tall, has a perfect figure, and his perfectly shaped face was dazzled by the sun's light behind. I was left open-mouthed when I could finally see his blue eyes staring at me, his pointed nose, his friendly brows, and his perfect ang kissable lips. But somehow, he's kinda familiar.

We both looked away when we heard a clatter of footsteps coming from the inside.

"Oh! Sir Nicholas! Are you going to see Mrs. Luciana?" A girl welcomed us—I mean 'him'. Only him. I didn't know that favoritism exists everywhere.

I rolled my eyes before I release a cough to get her attention. "I need to speak with Mrs. Luciana."

She smiles while her brows are arching. "Oh! You must be Sir Nicholas' guest, I'm sorry for not seeing you. Come in!"

I walked after the lady, makes the man stopped and walk behind me. It's the first time for me, seeing a perfect-figured man with a friendly face, maybe.

We stopped at the garden full of colorful gorgeous flowers. The girl bowed her head to the old lady sitting on a bench, wearing a Chinese blue dress, and was watching her flowers closely.

She was delighted when her gaze landed at my side but was changed when she saw me.

"Good day, Mrs. Luciana!" the man greeted.

"Please skip the formalities, Nicholas. Why are you here with a girl?" she glances at me, head to toe.

"You misunderstood us, Mrs. Luciana. We just meet each other earlier at the gate," he was about to tell her something but gladly my mouth spoke first.

"Is that true?" she looks at the man, he just nods. "Why are you here?" she glances at me before watching her flowers again.

"My mother wants to borrow Gege."

"I just want to accompany Gege."

I look sideward to glare at him but he's already staring at me, smiling. I don't know but something's wrong with my stomach when he did that.

"Do you hear the saying 'Ladies first' Mister?" I speak out, rolling my eyes.

"Okay," I was stunned because of his answer. I didn't see that coming.

"Did you honestly meet a while ago? If I haven't known you, Nicholas, I would have doubted you. You two seem flirting," she grinned widely.

I was startled when a black cat jump-up on my head.

"Ah! Get it away!" I screamed.

"Gege seems to like you," Nicholas, while trying to get the cat on my head. Gege scratched my scalp and took a group of hair along, that's why I groaned.

"Ouch! Can't you take that cat gently and painless for me?"

"Okay! Okay!" he finally remove the cat from my head. I was startled when he put the cat in my arms. "Sorry," he gently stroked my head, makes me feels uneasiness from within.

What is he doing?

"I...I h-have to go," I tried to speak casually, but my voice doesn't cooperate and stuttered.

I walk away, didn't even bother to hear their replies. The cat keeps meowing but is behaving very well. On my way, I saw a familiar girl surrounded by kids.

Angelica?

I draw nearer to confirm who it was.

"Give me that! That's mine!" a kid shouts at Angelica's face.

She was hugging her knees while protecting something. At that moment, I feel sympathy for Angelica, and anger for those b****d kids.

"N-no! I-its mine! My mom gave me this as a gift," Angelica, in her trembling voice, crying.

Those kids attempted to hit her but I immediately stopped them. "Hey!! What's going on in here!?" I exclaimed with so many frustrations.

I held the cat to Angelica after I help her stand up. When I turned my head to those bullies and wants to scold them hard, they were long gone.

"Are you okay? Who are those kids?" she didn't utter any single word.

"It's none of your business! I thought you don't know me!?" she exclaimed and turn her back at me.

“I was just acting this morning,” I tried to give an excuse. “Am I that awesome to made you act like this?” I paused and chuckles.

“Humph! Your acting was harsh, and I wasn't acting like this because of you, it was because those dwarfs and muddle-headed bullies tried to take my bracelet,” she pouted.

So this is all about the bracelet. Ugh! Kids nowadays are more difficult to handle.

I shifted my gaze on the moon with the four stars chained bracelet Angelica's wearing.

“I'm sorry, I lied about mom gave me this, big sister.”

“Huh?”

“Well, maybe you're angry because of not giving the right credits to you,” I look at her confused.

Does that mean, the original Angela gave that aesthetic jewelry to her?

I didn't know that I already bite my lower lip just because of that thought.

“It's okay. Let's go home?” she nodded, then runs with Gege in her arms.

“Eh? Why did you bring Gege back? Did Gege stressed Mrs. Luciana?” she asked.

“Ah no! I borrowed Gege for a while, it was our mom who instructed me,” I answered her, stroking and messing her hair.

“What? No way!!” she stopped walking.

“Huh?”

“That's impossible! How did you manage to get that cat from that moody lady”

I giggled. "Moody?" I asked.

She crossed her arms on her chest, looking at me pissed. "Yeah! She doesn't want to see or even meet dirty people neither things. She's a clean-handed old hag!"

I put my hands on my stomach to ease the pain of laughing hard again. "Nope, she's not like that. As I saw her a while ago, it is just she got the attitude of rich people and that doesn't count as rude, right?"

Rich people like me...

She pouted. "You are defending her!"

I smiled at her. "I wasn't. I am just correcting and giving you the facts about her. And don't quickly judge others, it might turn the tables upside down," I caress her soft hair and gave her a piece of advice.

"Okay big sister. I will listen to you from now on."

"That's more like it," she kissed my cheeks and run away.

Now I know the feeling of being kissed by a kid. It feels so cute and overwhelming. Not like those...er! Nevermind!

I was smiling while walking on my way home. Didn't mind the people who's staring at me. I can even hear their judging thoughts, so why should I bother to look at them.

"Hey!" a male voice shouts. I look back and there I saw a familiar guy, gasping and catching his breath with tons of sweat that makes him look, exhausted.

From a mile away, he draw nearer and nearer until he was meters away from me.

Why is this guy chasing me??
