The Moon And The Flower
Before there were people on this planet, there was only nature.
There was the Sun, the Oceans, the Clouds, the Mountains, the Animals, the Bugs, the Moon, and the Flowers.
For many years, the Moon had guarded the night with only the Stars to keep it company.
Then one slightly cold night the Moon noticed a beautiful glowing white star-like thing on the surface of the Earth.
On the third night the Flower decided to talk to the Moon. On the
fourth, the fifth and the sixth nights the Flower and the Moon spoke to one another, and over two weeks the Moon and the Flower became best friends.
They would speak to each other every night; but on one special night, the Moon
had asked the Flower why it was the only flower to bloom at night.
The Flower had responded, “All the other flowers bloom for the Sun’s light, but none bloom for your light. I decided to bloom every night for your light.”
After that, the Moon became fond of the Flower and was excited to
see the little flower every night.
One night the Moon told the Flower, “I will be gone for three nights, but I will come back on the fourth.”
The Moon had failed to notice that the little flower was sick.
On the fourth night the Moon came back and looked for the flower
but when the Moon came back for its friend, it did not find the beautiful white star-like flower in bloom. The moon did not find the Flower glowing.
Instead, the Moon had found a grey wilted flower with no life to it.
For days the Moon's light was dim and mellow.
The Moon grieved for the flower intensely.
The Moon had lost its best friend.
The Stars could not stand the sadness that the Moon was going through and decided there was only one way to make the Moon
shine brightly again.
The Stars decided to sacrifice themselves and become flowers that would bloom at night just like the previous flower to make the Moon happy.
Together, ten brave stars fell to earth, planted themselves in the
ground, and went to sleep.
Many nights later, the weather begun getting warmer and the Moon
noticed the white flowers had grown and bloomed.
The stars had became the flower that the Moon missed dearly, and
although they do not glow bright white like the first flower did, the Moon stopped grieving and shines brightly again for its friend’s.
Since then, the Stars that became the flowers are reborn every year in the summer
and bloom at night for the Moon.
That’s how the Moon Flowers came to be.
Writers note: I had to add extra words to publish this story. I originally wrote this story for school. I thought it was too good not to share. I hope you enjoyed this story and will plant moon flowers so the moon isn’t lonely. Thank you for reading.
