Episode 4

Bang! Click.

There's a loud bang and little click sound at the door in front of Elaine. Apparently, the door were opened but just a little bit and no one shows up. Elaine got curious and anxious at the same time. She try pushing the door a bit and the door hit something. Elaine look down and to her surprise it is the guy who was laying at the floor.

"Oh my god. Hey, what happen to you?! "

Elaine asking the guy but he didn't answer her. Elaine try to shake the guys shoulder, but when her hand touching the guy she was shocked.

"Oh no, you've got high fever. Your body so hot. What am I going to do now?" Elaine was panic for a while but then she try to think calmly. As if she have any other choice than helping to carry the guy into his room. Elaine hardly carrying the guy to his bed and put him on it. And she started tending to him.

After running around the room looking for clean face towel and a big bowl to fill in water, Elaine wiping sweat around the guys face and neck. Then she put a damp towel to his forehead. Just when she wants to rilex herself a little bit, there's a phone ringing and it is not her ringtone. She look around and found the phone near the table beside the bed. 'Manager' was written on screen.

'Maybe there's an important things happen at his workplace. I'll help him take message then.' Elaine thought to herself then answering the phone.

"Hello.. " Speak Elaine hesitantly.

"Hello! Jaime where the hell are you?! We are busy here, hurry up come to work will ya?! "

A sudden voice were heard on the other line. Elaine quickly reply to the guy on the phone,

"Ah! Sorry sir but I don't think the owner of this phone can come to work. He got a high fever. I found him passed out at his door just now. "

"Hmm? Who is this?" The tension voice calm a bit but confuse were detected.

"I am his neighbor." Elaine answer.

"Oh, okay. Well, thank you for looking after him. Can you help me leave a message to him that his friends, Ken called and ask him call me back." Ask the guy named Ken.

"Sure, I will pass your message to him. " Elaine answer while writing the message on the sticky note. Then the call was end.

After quite some times, Elaine was ready to leave the guy. After all, she needs to attend schools tomorrow. She cannot stay to stranger's place plus it is a guy's place. She put the bowl with water beside the bed together with the food she meant to give to him and a fever medicine that her mom put inside her bag.

The alarms from her phone wakes Elaine from the sleep. She still feeling asleep as she only sleep for 4 hours. She was looking after her neighbor until midnight but that guy still not wake up. Elaine get up from the bed and get ready to her new school. She don't want to leave a bad first impression there. And it is also her final year so she must do better.

Meanwhile, Jaime was awake when he hear a sound like the front door being closed. He slowly opening his eyes and looking at the door. But he saw no one. Then he look beside his bed on the table. He try sitting and leaning his back at the bed head. His head still feel dizy but not to much from before. He picked up the damp towel that fall down to his lap when he try to sit.

'Damp towel? Food and medicine? Who is it? '

Jaime try to remember whats happening before he passed out. He only remember that he got fever and someone knocking the door. When he try to open the door his sight got blurry and his head become heavy. He pick up his phone and reading the message on the sticky note on the phone. He sigh.

'Oh no. Ken must be angry'

Jaime holding his head as it still feeling pain. But her fingers were dialing Ken's number.

"Hello Ken. I am so sorry about yesterday. I will go to work this evening. Okay? " Jaime start speaking after the dialing tone were stop.

"Hey Jaime. No worry there. We still manage the situation with part timers help. How are you feeling? You don't need to come work today just rest." Ken answer with cheerful in his voice.

"By the way, you've got such a nice neighbor hah! The voice sounds cute too must be pretty girl. Hehehehe. " Ken continue teasing Jaime.

"Oh, is it a girl? I never see anyone after I'm awake. Oh my god its so embarrassing." Jaime say helplessly.

"What? You never see her. What a waste. Anyway, I'll go to your place later. You just have a rest today. " Said Ken.

"Okay Ken. Thanks buddy." Jaime answer then hang up the phone. Ken was friends with him ever since high school. After graduate, Ken was taking over her family business cafe. Ken hire Jaime to help him from his personal issues.

Jaime eating the food at the table. It still a little bit warm. He finished it in a second and taking his medicine. Before he went to sleep, he's thinking about the girl who help him.

'Such nice girl still exist in this cruel world.'

Then he drift off to his sleep as the medicine takes effect.

"Good morning class. Today we have new transfer student. Please introduce yourself miss Elaine. " Sir Ronald who happen to be Elaine's homeroom teacher were introducing her to the class.

"Good morning everyone. My name is Elaine Xin. Nice to meet you all. " Elaine introduce herself with a small shy voice. Luckily they still can hear her.

"Thanks Elaine. Everybody please be nice to her okay. Elaine, you can seat beside Jimmy there." Sir Ronald point to a seat at the second last row near window. When Jimmy's name were told, Elaine can hear the girls whispered.

"What, why does she has to get seat there?"

"Those seat were supposed to be empty so anyone can get near to Jim."

"She better not try to steal our Jim."

Hearing those words, Elaine looking around the classroom. And she thought to herself while walking to her appointed seat.

'Of course I've got to seat here because there won't have any other empty seat you dummy girls! What a worst first day scenario of school. '

Elaine sigh and wondering if she can safely end through the day.
