Chapter 3

Okay enough of that. Fast forward to 2019.

I'm 21, who works at a grocery store . I survive by having multiple part-time jobs and my parents sending me money.

When I was four, my parents and I were forced to move to America. I stayed in America for about fifteen years and then moved to Japan. I was trying to pursue my dream to become a patisserie. It did not work out well. So instead, I found a job at a nearby store. The pay was OK.

Although I'm not underweight or overweight, I eat a lot of junk food. Mostly containing potato chip, soda, or homemade sweets. I do regular checkups but I'm always told I'm healthy. I am excellent at cooking. I could make anything taste good. Tomato soup? I gotchu. Healthy green juice? I still gotchu.

The next day, I woke up oddly energetic. While brushing my teeth, I was thinking of making an egg salad. So I decided to make it. Without following any recipe, I started to add in my own measurements. Hm, 4 eggs are enough. Oh, and ripe cherry tomotoes with the lettuce I grew in the backyard. Perfect!

And finally, I finished. It seriously looked like something you would find in an ad.

"Gotta take the those Pinergram photos!"

" Wow, already 48 likes!" I awed.

While on my phone, I decide to check my mail.

I spotted new mail so I clicked onto it.

" Your monthly bill of $148 has not been payed yet."

Geez. The pay here is getting more and more expensive. I can't live here with just being a cashier. I don't make a lot of money. I should find a better job. I won't quit my job just yet. I needed to get another job first. So I went off to find a job. The job I wanted should at least be somewhat related to art. I think I'm pretty good at sketching.

Although I majored in science when I was in college, and I always had a passion for art. I would sit behind a tree near my dorm, and would sketch anything. Nobody knew about this passion. Not even my parents. I kept it a secret because my parents did not allow it.

I was an introvert, who loved to stay indoors and sleep. I was difficult to talk to, and was not approachable. I did not like to be a subject of gossip or drama, so I would avoid everybody. No one wanted to become my friend because of how I look and act. Before this happened.

It was just a regular day of college. Me sketching behind a tree, and me avoiding people. Out of no where, a girl, who seems to be my age, taps on my shoulder.

"I always see you next to this tree when I pass by. What do you do here?"

"Something. If you'll excuse me, I'll take my leave."

I grabbed my notebook and ran off.
