Courage and Theodore

Lavender began to search and move on. In her childhood, One day,...

There came a book. Fell from an exportation van unexpectedly. She never studied nor went to school. She took the book to the railway bridge and hid under there. Opened the book. She felt a strange connection between the book and herself. It was like hearing someone to speak an unknown language. Oneday when she was with her mother, she heard her mother sing the alphabet song of their region. That song also said how those words of hope look and how to sound. She soon recalled that. She closed the book and her eyes. Dreamed the song. Took a charcoal peice which fell from the train. Began to draw her mother's words on the pillar wall under the bridge. She completed it sooner than expected. She took the book. Saw the cover page. Began to read according to the song lines.

She started, " C... O... CO? "

She began to memorise. " CO, CO, CO... "

Stared those words for some time and felt contempt against herself. Went out side. Walked down the street where she used to live once. There she saw a boy, writing those same letters on wall just like her. She went to him. Stood behind him hiding herself in disdain. He spoke out those words. Singing the same song like her mother did. She saw all those words he wrote and heard the song to her hearts content. Rushed back to her small home under the railway bridge. Took glance at her writings on the wall of pillar. Corrected some words. Disatisfaction haunted her back and forth from deep inside her consciousness. She ran again to the boy. Saw everything again. Returned to her place. It happened countless times that she Fainted at the boy's foot out of hunger.

He woked her up in fear. She regained her conscious back. He gave her a bread crump to eat which he saved for himself. She took but hesitated to eat. He waited patiently for her to speak. She asked the boy with a very convincingly humble tone.

" Can you teach me those words, please? "

He stood amused for her nectar like naive sweet voice. He saw her who is looking with deep determination to her words. He replied, " Yes, I will. "

They started meeting. Soon they became very good friends. Then Lavender asked,

" What is your name? "

The boy replied with an awesome naive smile, " I'm Theodore. "

" Theodore? " She asked as if she is Amused.

" Yes...? " The boy felt weird 😕 and waiting for her next words.

" My mom told me, Theodore means GIFT OF GOD. It really feeling like it. "

The boy asked her with shy, " What is your name? "

She replied to him with her utteringly Hesitating tone, " My name is Lavender. "

Those naive words of her filled him with courage. He is also like her, no parents, no shelter, no food to eat. By chance he had a chance to learn those words. Soon he realized that he do have a hope to stay alive. By seeing her unwashed, mushy face and shabby hair filled with dirt. Worn out clothes. He said to himself, ' I found a new hope today, to live further. I'm very happy today that I found a friend all to myself. '

Learning things together. She finally learnt how to read and write. Then she opened her book. Showed it to the boy. He felt very happy. She started reading the cover page again. This time she read it in single piece.

" COURAGE. "

The boy felt surprised. As like how can she read it like that just from the 26 letters he thought her. He do tried to read it. Hence another story started to write on it's own.

It's just a belief of oneself, to continue their own survival even without any their companion. Because this world is full of people. Yeah, some are good and and some are filthy. Yet, we can survive, right?!...
