Lost In Your Eyes (Taekook)
The afternoon class felt particularly boring for Jungkook, mindlessly staring at the professor in front of him, who is probably teaching him something important. But that's not what Jungkook wanted to pay attention to. It's been 2 years since he turned 18, and by this time he has to have some clue about the whereabouts of his soulmate. Or at least a hint that his soulmate existed. Cause for the past two years, Jungkook has never seen any doodles appearing on his skin out of nowhere and he's slowly losing hope in finding his soulmate.
Most of his friends have found their soulmates by now and he's happy for them, yes he is. But it would be great if he also found the one for him. When Namjoon heard Jin making up a tune and singing the lyrics he wrote in his hands, Jungkook could see the glow both of them had on their faces. And for once Jungkook wanted to know that feeling. He is tired of waiting.
As if on cue, it started raining, the sky darkening along with Jungkook's thoughts. He got out of the lecture after a few minutes, walking down the hallway, out into the parking lot waiting for Yoongi to join him, only to receive a text from the latter saying that he's already waiting for Jungkook in the café.
"Min Yoongi already in the café by 3 pm? Must be something bad."
Jungkook pulled on his hoodie and ran to the nearby cafe that he and Yoongi frequented. Jungkook entered the café to see Yoongi with a grim expression, already on his third cup of coffee.
"What's up hyung? You look peachy," to which Jungkook earned a high pitched groan and a smack to his hand from the elder.
Jungkook saw Yoongi hesitating a bit before showing his wrist to the younger one. It was a tattoo of a cute little coffee cup.
"Hyung, I didn't know you loved coffee that much to get it tattooed on you. It looks great, hyung."
Yoongi covered his face with both hands before mumbling an, "it's not mine" to Jungkook.
"What do you mean it's not yours hyung? Or did someone doodle on their body." Jungkook teased.
But the silence followed by his question made things clear for Jungkook. Seems like Yoongi is going to find his soulmate soon.
"Can you believe my soulmate tattooed a coffee cup on his wrist? And I heard that tattoos are permanent on both you and your soulmate's body. Out of everything, a coffee cup?"
Jungkook knows that he should be happy for his best friend, but he felt a kind of heaviness in his stomach that seemed to be weighing him down. He couldn't even listen to Yoongi ranting about his soulmate being selfish and not even considering his liking. But he somehow managed to pull up a face that seemed interested in listening to Yoongi.
Days passed by and yet Jungkook still had no idea where his soulmate was. Not that he has actively participated in finding the one. Yet he tried his best by doodling on his arms or his palm sometimes, searching for anyone with a matching drawing on their hands. But all was in vain.
It’s been two weeks since Yoongi started working in the café they always went to, since semester break started and he had nothing better to do. And Jungkook is here sitting in front of the counter chatting away with Yoongi while sipping on his coffee.
The bell chiming interrupted the friends, bringing in a new customer. He asked for a pastry, scrolling through his phone while waiting for the order. Just as Yoongi was about to give him the pastry, he felt his whole world being stopped.
Yoongi took hold of the customer's hand, earning a harsh pull from the latter and a very defensive "let go" to which Yoongi didn't give an ear.
"When did you get this tattoo?"
The customer, still very much closed off and defensive, paid no mind, trying to get out of Yoongi's hold on his wrist.
Jungkook couldn't stay there watching his friend behave weirdly to a stranger like this. He interrupted asking Yoongi to let go of the customer and not create a scene in front of everyone.
"No Jungkook, he has got the same tattoo like the one on my hand!"
Jungkook saw the stranger's eyes becoming wide by the second, his posture slowly losing its stiffness, hands visibly loosened. Yoongi noticed the same, loosening his grip on the stranger's hand.
"How did you get the same tattoo as mine? I got this for three weeks or so."
Yoongi felt the sound of the stranger like the sound of raindrops falling. It was calming, it felt like happiness. Suddenly Yoongi had the urge to giggle, yet he managed to form coherent sentences and respond to the stranger.
"I also got this on my hand during that time. Just so you know coffee cups are my thing. Aren't they cute?"
Jungkook just stood gaping at Yoongi's obvious attempt at flirting with someone that seems to be his soulmate.
Jimin, that was Yoongi's soulmate's name. The three of them went along really well. Jimin behaved like he knew both of them all along his life, so there wasn't any awkward period where they found it difficult to mingle with each other.
Not gonna lie but Jungkook did feel a bit left out whenever they hung out together, cause the new couple apparently couldn't keep their hands to themselves. And probably that's why Jimin took pity on him and promised him to bring his best friend the next he visited.
"Jungkook, I'll let you meet my best friend next time. I'm sure you two will get along well. He's pretty special." that's what Jimin told while making him a sandwich, probably out of pity again.
One week passed before Jungkook was invited to hang out with Yoongi again, Jimin's excited voice in the background reminding him that maybe he brought his friend along with him. Jungkook naturally put in extra effort to look handsome than he already is, carefully applying a bit of pink shade on his lips and a bit of concealer.
He stood in front of Yoongi's door holding a bottle of wine. This is the same house he considered as his second house, and yet he felt a bit nervous today considering the chance of meeting a new person.
The door opened to a Jimin with a huge smile plastered on his face, already pulling Jungkook inside. Jungkook ran his eyes all over the living room, disappointment taking over him when he didn't see anyone new.
"Oh no Jungkook, don't pout yet, he's in the bedroom. I'll go get him. You stay here."
Sometimes Jungkook does get freaked out by Jimin. It’s as if the latter can read his mind or something. Jungkook saw Jimin bringing in an exceptionally beautiful human being and Jungkook could swear that he was in heaven. Cause in no way was this real. The boy in front of him looked like a piece of art and Jungkook felt like a spectator gazing at all of his perfectness until his eyes hurt.
"Jungkook-ssi, meet Taehyung, my best friend."
Jungkook adjusted his hair before going in for a handshake. He was acting all gentlemanly without quiet yet knowing the reason why. And when Jungkook didn't receive a handshake in return, he eyed Jimin, who stood with an amused smile on his face.
"Jungkook, didn't I say my friend was pretty special. Well, he sees everything with his heart. Taehyung, Jungkook is trying to say hi to you."
"Oh hi, Jungkook-ssi nice to meet you. Jimin has told a lot about you."
Jungkook let Jimin's words sink in. He couldn't hang on to what Taehyung was saying either. The boy in front of him was blind. The pretty angel who seemed like he deserved the world couldn't see the beauty the world held for him. Jungkook felt his eyes watering at that thought. Jimin was quick to notice. He pulled Jungkook to the side and whispered,
"Jungkook, don't. Taehyung hates sympathy. Just talk to him as if you would talk with me and Yoongi."
It’s been two weeks since he first saw the miracle named Kim Taehyung, and it has been the best two weeks of his life.
Taehyung was full of energy and life. Jungkook felt like Taehyung painted all his dulling walls with colour in the form of his laughter. The latter's eyes always shine so brightly whenever they talk. Hanging out with Taehyung was not as difficult as Jungkook thought it would be.
Jungkook found himself seeking comfort in Taehyung's presence as the days went on.
"Taehyung do you always have to use the white cane whenever you go out?", Jungkook was eyeing the stick on Taehyung's hands.
"Um yes, unless I'm with Jimin, I always carry this around."
Jungkook just nodded and made their way to the café. Now that Jimin also started working in the café to give Yoongi a company, the four of them always used to spend time there.
During one of their hangouts, Jungkook decided to ask Taehyung about his soulmate,
"Tae, have you found your soulmate yet?"
Taehyung furrowed his brows a bit, his lips curling into a soft smile before answering.
"I haven't met them yet, but Jimin said they drew beautiful flowers on their hands. Jimin always used to describe how the flowers looked. What about you Jungkook? Have you found yours?"
Jungkook explained how he couldn't find his soulmate however times he tried and how he has eventually stopped drawing on his skin.
"I don't think you should stop trying Jungkook. Your soulmate might just be around the corner. Maybe you're evading their eyes."
Truth be told Jungkook didn't want to try anymore. One reason he is tired, and the next reason is the beauty sitting in front of him.
Jungkook felt an ever-growing sense of euphoria whenever he was with Taehyung, and frankly speaking, he started getting afraid, considering Taehyung knew the presence of his soulmate and that he could slip away from Jungkook's life any time without a warning.
Jungkook didn't want that to happen. But with overthinking comes insecurity, and right now Jungkook was a man full of insecurities. He knew he had no right to ask Taehyung to stay with him. He didn't even know what Taehyung felt for him. What he felt for Taehyung. All he knew was that it would be difficult for him to breathe if Taehyung suddenly disappeared from his life.
Jungkook's mind was huddled with confusion and he naturally started avoiding Taehyung eventually, to ease the pain when he went away from his life. Jungkook stopped going to the café, stopped responding to his friends' texts and calls. He started caving in on himself.
It was such an evening when Jungkook was hiding away from his friends, standing at the balcony, staring down at the street below, that he saw a familiar brunette haired boy standing there, looking clueless. Jungkook's heart leapt up his mouth, wide-eyed, mouth opening and closing to see Taehyung standing there.
He ran to the street as fast as he could, stopping in front of his miracle.
"Why are you here Tae? Where is your cane? Where is Jimin?"
Taehyung reacted to the familiar voice in front of him, his hands reaching out to touch Jungkook.
"I don't have my cane with me, I knew you would come, Jungkook. My heart told me so."
Jungkook took Taehyung's extended hand in his, his expression faltering to see Taehyung's eyes watering.
"What are you saying Taehyung? You do know that it's dangerous to be without a cane right?"
Jungkook's voice was thick with emotions. And he was taken aback by what Taehyung did next. Tae was tracing his fingers all across Jungkook's face, eyes, lips, and nose. Once. Twice.
"You're so beautiful Jungkook."
Jungkook felt like the world was stopping beneath his feet. He felt his heart skip a beat.
"How do you know Taehyung?"
Taehyung traced his finger towards Jungkook's heart. Poking his finger there.
"I just know."
Taehyung never used a cane again whenever he was with Jungkook after that. Even though both of them didn't speak out their feelings for each other, an understanding was already built among them. Both of them possibly couldn't think about a day without meeting each other. Hearing their voices. Basking in each other’s presence as much as they can.
Jungkook took Taehyung to all of his favourite places, securing his hands in his, leading him through all the crevices and potholes. Literally. Taehyung felt his heart growing whenever Jungkook took his hands in his own. This feeling was one of a kind for Taehyung. He has never actually gotten closer to anyone apart from Jimin. He always felt his blindness would make people feel uncomfortable, so he didn't want to be a burden.
But with Jungkook everything came naturally. It was like he was meant to meet Jungkook. Meant to spend time with him. Meant to hold his hands. Meant to hear his voice, his laughter. And Taehyung's pretty sure Jungkook is as pretty as he takes care of Taehyung. His gentle touch and voice when guiding him, his excitement when he talks about something he loves, all were music to Taehyung's ears.
Jungkook felt the same way with Taehyung too. He loved holding Taehyung's hands. He loved when the latter traced his long fingers across his face, eyes closed as if remembering each of Jungkook's features. Jungkook badly wanted to kiss Taehyung. But they never crossed the line. Why? Because at the end of the day Taehyung had a soulmate that he knew of and Jungkook yet had to find his soulmate.
They were just not yet brave to face the consequences when they gave in to their feelings.
"Taehyung, how's it going with Jungkook?"
It was Jimin. His best friend stood by him right from his childhood. Jimin was extremely happy to see his friend with a huge smile on his face almost all the time nowadays. And Jimin was glad that the reason for it was Jungkook. Yet he had a lingering thought about what happens when one of them meets their soulmate, still, he didn't voice it out.
"Jungkook? It’s going pretty great with him, chim. He's really fun to hang out with. Thank you for introducing him to me."
Taehyung caressed his friend's hand.
"Do you know Tae? I sometimes wish you both were soulmates. I mean the way Jungkook looks at you, it's like you're the whole galaxy for him. Like you're filled with stars. His eyes get all shiny when he looks at you. And he has this adorable smile whenever he's talking with you. I wish you guys could be together."
Taehyung's cheeks were dusted with a shy pink, overwhelmed by Jimin's analysis of Jungkook looking at him. And it's true Taehyung also wishes that they were soulmates. But he knows life isn't that easy for everyone.
The night sky expanded in front of them. The duo decided to spend their time together, under the night sky, drinks in hand, random thoughts flowing here and there. Jungkook turned to look at Taehyung, his cheeks flushed due to the alcohol. Jungkook felt himself burning up.
Taehyung caught up on the unusual silence that was created among them. He turned to where Jungkook was sitting, eyebrows furrowing up in confusion.
"Um, Jungkook you there? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Jungkook held Taehyung's hands in his, letting the latter know that he was still beside him. After what almost felt like an eternity, Jungkook decided to muster up and ask Taehyung what he had been planning all along.
"Tae, can I touch you?"
Taehyung was taken aback by the sudden straightforward question thrown at him by the younger.
"Jungkook what do you-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Taehyung felt a finger tracing along his lips, slowly travelling around his face. His jaws, his eyes, his nose. Jungkook was tracing his fingers all around Taehyung's face, all while keeping his eyes closed.
"Jungkook, what are you doing?"
"I'm memorising you Tae."
Jungkook's fingers travelled down to Taehyung's nape, holding him there. He leaned in closing the gap between them. The kiss was short yet Jungkook felt like he was floating. Floating away to somewhere where they both could be together. Be happy. Be in love.
"Jungkook-"
"Shh Taehyung, listen to me. Let’s not see each other anymore. We both know how this will end up. You will have to leave me for someone else anyway. Let's not break ourselves further. Spare ourselves the pain."
Tears were falling freely from both their eyes. Jungkook leaned touching his forehead with Taehyung's. Holding tight onto his nape. Crying. He let his tears fall free.
Taehyung couldn't keep his sobs in anymore. He gave in along with Jungkook. Letting his sobs drown in that lonely field under the sky, where only the stars were the witnesses of their shattering hearts.
"Will I ever see you again, Jungkook?"
"I'm not sure Tae. But we shouldn’t do it. Before we go, I want to do something."
Jungkook took a pen from his pocket, holding it above Taehyung's arms. Drawing a beautiful flower entwined on the moon, on his arms. He looked at Taehyung, sitting with his eyes closed, tears leaking from the side when he finished.
"I know I'll never leave an impression on your body. Let this be my way of showing how much you mean to me Tae."
"Stop Jungkook. Don't say such things when we both can't act on it. Let’s just go home."
Taehyung was drained by the time he reached home. And Jungkook, heartbroken , didn't care to look at the same drawing as that of Taehyung, that appeared under his long sleeves.
Jimin woke up to the sound of knocking on his bedroom door. It was 1 AM. Jimin didn't expect Taehyung to come back to their shared apartment today. He was supposed to have a good time with Jungkook. Jimin was shocked to see Taehyung with red-rimmed eyes and nose, sniffling, head bowed low standing in front of him.
He didn't waste any time before engulfing his friend in a huge bear hug, leading him inside his bedroom. Taehyung was crying his heart out, sobs coming uncontrollably. His hands clenching Jimin's shirt, head buried on his chest.
"Tae! What happened? Stop crying. Did Jungkook say anything?"
"Don't.. don't say his name Jimin. Just don't."
Jimin just held on to his friend suspecting something went wrong with the duo.
"What are you doing Tae?"
Jimin noticed Taehyung frantically rubbing his arm. Cursing and crying.
"Get it off chim. Get it off me. I don't need his impression on me. Rub it off."
"Tae, stop doing that! I'll rub it off. Calm down."
Jimin took some moisturizer from his nightstand, rubbing it on Taehyung's arms where a drawing of a flower entwined on the moon was present. That flower. Jimin had seen a drawing like this appearing on Taehyung's hands before.
"Tae, did Jungkook draw that on you?"
He didn't receive a response in return. Taehyung had already passed out due to exhaustion. Jimin rubbed the remaining part of the drawing and tucked Taehyung in his bed, making a note in his mind to ask him about everything after his friend calmed down.
Meanwhile, Jungkook reached his home after dropping Taehyung off. He crashed on his bed, lifting his arms to see if he had something on there. Wishing that the flower he drew on Taehyung to be there. All he could see was his arm being like an empty canvas waiting to be painted.
"I hope you find the one for you Tae. Even though you didn't make an impression on my skin, you surely did that on my heart."
Nights turned to mornings. Days turned to weeks and yet Jungkook never went out of his home. He was scared, to be honest. Scared to face reality. Scared to face Taehyung. In the bubble of imagination that he built, Taehyung is still with him. They are happy and in love.
The only source of news about the outside world was when Yoongi visited him after his shift in the coffee shop, carefully avoiding talking about Jimin and Taehyung in their conversation.
Taehyung, much like Jungkook, cooped up in his safe space for the first two weeks. But now he was seated in the café, eyes mindlessly wandering here and there.
'Am I still hoping to hear his voice call my name?', he chuckled inwardly.
He felt pathetic. He truly did. But he was no one to control how his heart felt. He tried to stay away from all thoughts that reminded him of Jungkook, his velvety voice that dropped an octave whenever he was with Taehyung. He even asked Jimin to not utter a word about Yoongi. Taehyung wanted to move on, but his heart seemed like it was anchored on the shore called Jungkook, and it wasn't ready to move on yet.
"Hyung how is Jungkook doing?", Jimin was sipping a cup of coffee beside Yoongi, an eye always on Taehyung. It was their break time.
"Hmm, Jungkook's not doing well, to be honest. He doesn't want you to know that though."
"Can I meet him? I want to talk to ask him something and he's not answering any of my texts."
Yoongi took a bit of time before answering.
"If this is about the drawing you saw, I've already asked him and he shut me off. But I'll let him know that you want to meet him," he pecked Jimin's lips, "now let's go, shifts about to start."
It took a lot of convincing from Yoongi's side to budge Jungkook. He finally agreed to meet Jimin and as a result, was now waiting by the road headed to the beach. Jimin waved at him and ran towards the latter, engulfing him in a bone-crushing hug.
"I missed you Jungkook."
Jungkook still doesn't know why Jimin is being kind to him. He always was like that. Maybe he's wired to be kind to everyone.
They walked to the beach, with Jimin excitedly talking about what all Jungkook missed during his hiatus, never once mentioning Taehyung. Jungkook felt a bit at ease with Jimin. He let out a sigh he didn't know he was holding, staring at the horizon.
"Why did you want to meet me hyung?", he didn't wanna sound rude but he was impatient.
Negative thoughts like did Taehyung already find his soulmate lingered in his mind.
"Oh come on Jungkook, can't I meet my friend without having anything in mind. Just like old times. Let loose a bit Jungkook."
He did what he was told to. He let loose. He let go of all thoughts that surrounded Taehyung. His mind resisted him, never allowing him to move on, but he faced it with a brave facade today. Weeks passed after his last encounter with Taehyung and today Jungkook finally smiled genuinely. Scratch that he finally laughed out loud genuinely.
He was chasing Jimin around the beach. Both of them giggling and panting with exhaustion. Darkness was already approaching. Jimin knew why he wanted to meet Jungkook. He had a clear idea in his head. Still, Jimin didn't want to rush Jungkook into anything and scare him off. Also, he missed his friend. So the time they spent together wasn't a facade.
"Drop me home?" Jimin watched Jungkook's expression changing, but still, he nodded in an affirmative.
"Jungkook, can I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure?"
"It's about the drawi-" ring ring
Jungkook's phone was buzzing and he took the call.
"I'm sorry hyung, it's my project partner. I promised to help him today. If it's okay, let's talk tomorrow? I'm sorry again. Bye!"
"But Jungkook-"
'Oh god I was so close to asking him and this happened. My gut says it's Jungkook's drawing that I used to see on Taehyung before. Okay, I might have an idea for that.' Jimin already jumped on to his next plan, since asking Jungkook didn't go as he thought it would.
It was a Saturday, exactly a week after he met Jimin when Jungkook felt like his life was about to turn upside. Jungkook was too sleepy to notice the words that appeared in his hands while he was sleeping. If it wasn't for Yoongi pointing it out, he would've completely missed it.
'Meet me by the fountain near the park at 7 pm tonight' that's what was written on his hands.
Jungkook was practically freaking out. Frantically asking Yoongi if this was some kind of sick joke or should he consider going to meet his soulmate or whoever is pulling this prank on him.
He tried rubbing off the words, but it ended in vain. That only means one thing, his soulmate wrote this and they're expecting an answer. Well, he's not that brave to answer it right away.
"Hyung! Ask Jimin hyung if he knows something. This is driving me crazy!"
Jungkook was walking to and fro in front of an unfazed Yoongi, minding his own business.
"I already asked him, thanks to your constant whining. He says he doesn't know anything about it. And why do you think Jimin might know something? Are you expecting your soulmate to be a specific person?"
Jungkook understood what Yoongi was implying. He didn't wanna deny it. He wanted that special someone to be his soulmate. He wanted Kim Taehyung to be his forever.
"Hyung I-"
"Listen Jungkook, it's already 6 PM. If you would like to then go and find out who that special someone is. Maybe try giving them a chance. It might not be such a bad idea."
What Yoongi suggested would probably make sense if Jungkook was thinking straight. He wasn't. But still, he wanted to meet this person and maybe ask them to give him space. Yes, that's what he was going to do.
Jungkook didn't care to dress himself up nicely. Just putting on a black hoodie, messy hair and boots of his choice. Looks were not on today's priority list for him.
It was sharp 7 when he reached the park, devoid of the crowd. It was calm and quiet. He walked towards the fountain, the centre of attraction of the park. He saw a man standing there, his face towards the fountain. Jungkook approached him, clearing his throat to get attention.
The man turned around to face him. He was beautiful with a well-defined jaw and a perfect set of teeth when he flashed a smile. He was beautiful but he was not Taehyung. Jungkook's heart sank.
"Jungkook?", the man asked, coming forward.
Jungkook nodded in an affirmative, not knowing how to respond. The man took a bouquet from his side and handed it to Jungkook saying, " I am supposed to give you this."
The bouquet was of lily, his favourite. He doesn't even question how the man knew his favourite flower. Jungkook looked up at the man, who winked at him seeing the flustered expression on his face.
"So are you my soulm-"
"Jungkook", a voice interrupted him. A voice as deep as the ocean that made his heart go into violent turbulence. A voice that erupted millions of butterflies in his stomach. A voice that belonged to someone he loved. No. Someone he loves.
"Taehyung?". There he stood in all his glory. His face got illuminated as he walked forward, his hands reaching out in search of Jungkook. Jungkook held his hands, standing there, breath caught up in his throat as if on cue. He's pretty sure he's imagining all this by now.
"Tae what are you doing here?"
"I came to find my soulmate". His hands gripped a bit tighter onto Jungkook's.
"Did you find them?"
"Yep, I hope they're not allergic to lilies."
"You know he's not allergic". Jungkook's voice was thick with emotions. His mind was going haywire. He still couldn't hold on to what was happening. Even when Taehyung was happily gushing out about how much he missed him. Even when Taehyung showed the same writing that Jungkook had on his hand. No, Jungkook still couldn't believe all this was true.
"Jungkook, you've been quiet for a long time. Is something wrong? Did you not want me to be your-",
Taehyung's insecurities weren't going to surface for a long time, cause Jungkook captured those plump lips in his. This time not taking it slow, pouring all his emotions into the kiss. For all the unsaid words, all the days they didn't see each other. They parted their lips, foreheads still leaning on each other’s, breathing uneven.
"Kim Taehyung, I love you"
That night, under those incandescent lamps, Jungkook could swear he saw Taehyung blushing a beautiful red.
"I'm afraid, Jeon Jungkook, that I'm in love with you too."
The couple or let's call them the newly found soulmates, walked hand in hand, venturing into the park. They came to a halt in front of a tree, clad in fairy lights and sat in front of it. Jungkook was closely observing Taehyung's features. Not like he hasn't done that all the time they met earlier. But this time it feels peaceful, he doesn't have to be afraid of losing Taehyung to someone else.
Jungkook took out a few leaves that fell on Taehyung's hair, gently caressing his face, placing soft kisses on his cheeks.
"So tell me how you found out that I am your soulmate?"Jungkook was curious.
"I didn't. I mean Jimin was always pestering me by saying that he saw the same drawing on me that you drew earlier or something like that. So finally I gave in and asked him for help."
It was getting cold. Jungkook hugged Taehyung closer to him, the latter now resting his head on Jungkook's shoulders.
"Jimin wrote that message on my hand. It was a chance that I took. I wasn't going to come out and talk if it wasn't for you. I would've just stayed behind and walked back home."
"But didn't Yoongi hyung say anything to Jimin hyung? He saw me getting the message."
"Ah, that was a plan between them for us. They wanted it to be a surprise."
"So you're saying Yoongi hyung could've saved us from suffering but he chose not to. I see."
"Hehe, let's just leave that. Anyway, all this led me to you. And here we are."
Jungkook kissed the top of Taehyung's hair, "here we are."
"Jungkook? Will you draw something on me?"
Jungkook took the pen Taehyung offered him and angled himself so that he could draw on Taehyung's arms. He drew one of his favourite flowers, surrounded by the galaxy.
"Watch your arm too, Jungkook."
And as Jungkook kept on drawing on Taehyung, he saw his arm getting filled with the same image.
"Jungkook, I have never seen colours in my entire life and for the first time, I can say I know what colour feels like. Jimin sometimes taught me how to associate colours with moods. If love has a colour, then it's you Jungkook. You paint my walls with love and I've never felt happier than this. You're the colour I needed and I'm glad that you're the one for me."
Jungkook had no words left to say after that. Taehyung just poured his heart out and Jungkook felt like crying. He doesn't know how the universe brought him to meet such an incredible person with a kind heart and soul.
"Tae, I will always cherish you for as long as I live. I will keep on loving you if that's the last thing I have to do. I'll be your guide, I'll be your light and I'll be the voice that supports you. Just stay with me forever. Promise me that."
"It's forever or nothing else. I promise you Jungkook. I love you."
"I love you too Tae. With all my heart."
Jungkook could envision himself and Taehyung being happy and cuddly in their home. Just like the one in his imaginative bubble, but this time it's all real. This time they're truly there for each other. This time they're really happy and sincerely in love. This time Kim Taehyung is his soulmate.
