This Old Man!
“The number you have dialed is unavailable—”
“Gahh! Why isn't he picking up?” Kris stomped his foot as he tried to contact his lover again and again.
Ring Ring Ring,
Good thing he finally picked up.
“Hello? Kris? It's already late—”
“You merciless old man!” Kris cut him off. “I called you multiple times already! What is preventing you from answering my calls?!”
“Ohoho...did you miss me that much already?” Judah teased.
“Shut up!” Kris disacknowledged Judah’s reply.
“What’s up coffee bean?” Judah asked undisturbed.
“I told you to stop calling me that. Pick me up.”
“Coffee bean.”
“I’m at the XXX cafe near my college; pick me up.”
“Why should I?”
“What kind of a boyfriend are you? Are you not concerned about me? How mean.”
“I am not concerned about you. Certainly.”
“So mean. Please pick me up. It's freezing.”
“It’s mid-summer though?”
“Just shut up and pick me up.”
“Go get a taxi.”
“Pick me up.”
“How about you get a taxi?”
“They are very rare to be found around this time.”
“I’m sure at least one will pass by.”
“Fine! Whatever!” Kris ended the call immediately.
“That old bastard. He does nothing but mocks me.” The hopeless boy crouched down as he felt weak and tired. He proceeded to bury his face in his arms and waited for a taxi to pass by.
“How are you supposed to see a taxi pass by if you're looking down like that?”
Kris immediately stood up and smacked his boyfriend’s face with his papers.
“You bastard!” Kris whimpered. “You’re so mean. So annoying. I wanna slap you so bad right now.”
Kris buried his face on his boyfriend’s chest.
Sniffs.
Judah wrapped his arms around his lover and planted a kiss on his forehead.
“Coffee bean?”
“What?” Kris replied raspily.
“How was your day?” Judah flashed a smile.
“You made it worse.”
Judah grinned and wrapped a scarf around his lover’s neck.
“A scarf in summer?” Kris asked.
“Well, my coffee bean is cold.”
Judah held his partner’s hand and rubbed it with his thumb.
“Stop calling me with that weird nickname. My mom told me they contemplated what to name me for a long time.”
“Sounds unreal. Did you not know your name is one of the most common?”
“Could you please just shut your mouth, Judah?”
“I am just telling you though, just in case—”
“No.”
Judah stayed silent.
“What now?” Kris asked in disbelief.
“Nothing. I love you.”
“So sudden?”
“Never sudden. I always have been loving you.”
“Now you're acting cheesy.” Kris looked away.
“Ooh. My lovely coffee bean.” Judah hugged his lover once again with a big smile plastered on his face. “How cute.”
The boy’s knees started getting wobbly. “Stop it.”
“Hm? Why? Still not used to it?” Judah teased.
“I-it’s not like that.” Kris stuttered.
“If so, then I'll remind you every moment.”
“You’re being cheesy again!”
“I love you. I love you. I love—”
“Kids these days.” An old woman passed by shaking her head.
“Ma’am did you not know this dude is already over 30?” Kris said quiet enough only for Judah to hear.
“I am not that old yet!”
