Too Early and Too Late

I met him when I was 10 and he was 11. I and him became best friends. We started by becoming enemy and slowly became friends but we still fight sometimes. When I was 16 he confessed with me. He said, he had feeling for me for a long time. But I said I don't like him. I was nervous that time when he confessed. Then sad thing came, his father died and he has no choice but to leave the city. He has no sibling it's only him and his mother. He moved to his grandmother's house, which is very far away from my city. Before he left he told me that he will never stop loving me. And a years have passed, I am now 24 and I started working in a cafe shop. And while I was cleaning the tables, I saw a paper and there's a wrote in it. It said, "You looked more pretty now, I like you". I didn't knew who it was since there are many people ordering in the cafe, Maybe somebody forgot it. I thought maybe it was just a confession for somebody. And another days passes while I was cleaning the table I saw a paper again with wrote in it. It said "You looked more prettier now, I still like you" and with chocolate on it. I thought that it is kind of suspicious but I never minded it. Days have passed I was waiting for the guy who left it. Because I wanna know who he is and why does he always forget to bring it. A days came and I found a guy writing on the table and I came near him. He was wearing Black polo, Black pants , shoes and has a cap. I said hi to him and he said hello. I found something suspicious. His voice is kind of familiar, also his smell is familiar to me. I asked him do I know you?, and he said no. I followed him and asked him again? because I think I know him. He stopped walking and I came near him. I looked into his face and I was shocked!....It was him. I didn't expect to meet him again. He said, Long time no see. I was so shocked that I didn't got a chance to say anything. He felt weak suddenly and I said "Are you okay? " I bought him to the hospital. After I bought him to hospital He goes in to ask the doctor what happened to him. When he was done I asked him "What happened to you? Are you okay now?" he said yes I am. That's great! By the way hi, long time no see I said. He asked me, "How have you been? ". I said I have been great. How about you? I asked him. I am also good, he said. Let me take you home it's dark now, he said. I said no it's fine, I can walk. He insisted on taking me home so I had no choice but to let him since we haven't seen each other for long time. Tomorrow after that, He invited me to come to an dinner with him and I said yes. When I was at the restaurant with him, he talked to me. And said, please don't mind what I am about to ask. " Have you ever loved someone? he asked me and I said no, I haven't. And He suddenly said "I like you, do you like me?" he said. It was a sudden question. I said sorry I do not like you. He said it's fine, I understand. Next day later, While I was working he visited in the cafe shop and told me can we talk later? and I said I still got to visit my grandma later sorry. He said it's fine. Another day later, he came again to the cafe shop and said can I talk to you now?I am still working sorry. The day after tomorrow he came at my work shop, and I said "Hi, sorry we are already closed." He said I just want to talk to you. I said "Oh sorry it's not that I am ignoring you, it's just Im so tired I got to go home now. I am gonna call taxi and go. You should go home now you might be tired. Oh okay goodbye and goodnight he said. A day later I was waiting for him to come but he didn't come. More days passed I'm still waiting for him, but he didn't came. I was a little bit worried of what happened but I think he's just busy with works.

A day later, someone sent me a message it was his mom. She told me to come to their home cause she wants to show me something. Now I've arrived at their home I saw many people on their house while I was at the road thought it was just his birthday but when I came inside. I saw his mom crying, she has been crying for almost a week. And I saw a man in a coffin, lifeless. My tears started to fall, uncontrollable tears falling. I asked his mom, when did he die and what happened.

Six days ago. He died while waiting a ride on his way home.

His mom gave me something a paper that he told his mom to give it to me when he is gone. It has write on it, It said...

"You were so busy, and I didn't even got a chance to tell you that I got a coronary artery disease. I loved you since we were still kids, I don't get it why you are so mad at me while we were still kids. But it's alright even if you fight me or swear at me it's alright. I have been visiting in you workshop lately because I've been missing you, I haven't seen you for years. And now is the only chance I get to see you. I'm sorry if I keep liking you but I just can't help it. I just wanna say that you're the prettiest and It will be different now it will be I'll love you forever. When I'm gone, I hope you take care of yourself. And find someone you really love. I hope to see you again in another life".

And I realized that I loved him now, now that he is gone.
