Working on a new case

Detective

Ken was sitting inside his office and reading the daily newspaper in his hand but

then he heard a knock on his office door and saw a beautiful blonde lady who

had invited herself into his office and sat down on the front chair and removed

a variety of huge files of paper out of her bag.

The

lady said “I am Healy your new partner, who shall accompany you in solving the

new case if you choice to accept it, regarding the Frostburg mysteries” and

handed over a red file and after reading the file Ken said “How come I have

never heard about any news or intel about this case?. If things are this bad

how come no one knowns about this?”

Healy

said “All relevant information is classified and the government has tried it

best to silence anyone who raises their voice about this case”. Ken replied “I

understand after all this is a major case” and after completely browsing

through the file, Ken continued “So to sum it up in a small city of Frostburg

there have been many incidents of hundreds of people going missing and until

now only a few dead bodies have been recovered”.

Healy

confirming Ken said “Yes this is correct and the strange thing is when you read

this report you would assume that a purge has started down there but it all

normal and society is functioning quiet well and none of the people are moving

out or running away. When I talked to a local he seemed completely unaware of

what was happening in the city”.

Ken

commented “That quiet strange have the police found anything and what in the

other files?” Healy answered “It about the different suspects and incidents

that occur in the town and the police has not been able to even touch the

surface of this case and that why I am here asking for the legendary detective

Ken help”.

Ken

said “This does look interesting and the government even went on to tell me

secret Intel but it still extremely life threatening”. Healy replied “It might

be life threatening but it is extremely rewarding”. Ken asked with a grave face

“How much are we talking about”. Healy said “10 million dollars as

participation fee”. Ken replied with a shocked face “That a lot of money we are

talking about”.

Healy

said “It a lot of money because the government is freighted that this will

spread and the government would not able to stop it”. Ken then said “Fine I

shall accept this case”. Healy said “Alright here is your ticket I shall be

leaving these files with you for you to read as I have already gone through

them”.

On

the eve of 6th September Ken

dragging his suitcase filled with all his necessary equipment checked into the

flight and met with his partner Healy on board and they sat next to each other

in business class. Ken removed one of the files from his bag under his seat as

it was going to be a long journey of 6 hours to Frostburg and the small plane

was anyways pretty much empty.

Ken

started reading the blue file, he found it quite interesting as it was about

the local mental hospital where five mental kids had escaped and the CCTV

camera had completely blacked out when they escaped but were later found

completely functioning perfectly without any error.

Ken

was so intrigued that he started reading the medical reports attach to the file

and found that these kids were not your average mental kids but were special

cases that would talk about these irrational beings that trying to enter their

minds and attacks them all the time which was later observed that panic attacks

started to occur when they talked too much about these things.

Ken

after finishing the file removed another file which stated that the beginning

of the reports for missing people started in late July and it described few

people kids who went missing and at the end of the report it said that a

retired inspector did report that a few kids in mid-May did come to him saying

that people are going missing and told him a lot of nonsense about these weird

things and people going missing but as they were kids they were dismissed.

Ken

after finishing the file felt sleepy so closed the file and decided that he had

to pay a visit to this retired officer first thing after they land and closed the

file and kept it inside his bags and dozed off.

Ken

woke up in the morning when he heard that the plane was about to land at

Frostburg city and saw that Healy was still sound asleep and decided to wake

her up. After the flight landed Ken and Healy collected their luggage and

checked into the hotel which was pre-booked before their trip.

Ken

took a bath and got dressed into a classy black coat with a red tie and white

shirt and soon met with Healy inside her room and saw she was wearing a nice

blue long sleeves skirt. After placing the order for breakfast to be delivered

to Healy room for both. Ken said "Let's talk about the case, I was going

through the files in the flight and read about the retired police inspector”

Healy

said “Which inspector are you talking about?” Ken removed the file and opened

the last page and said while pointing his figure on a small line “This

inspector I want to meet him now”. Healy said after reading the line “Do you

really believe that the children somehow managed to know about all this before

it even started”.

Ken

then removed another file and said “According to the last population check this

place should be filled with tons of people but the streets are empty and the

cases we are solving are the one filed imagine about the one that are not

filed”. Healy was left speechless as what Ken had said was correct.

Healy

and Ken then made a visit to the police station and soon enough got the

location of the retired policemen house. Ken suggested taking a sketch artist

along as they might need to draw the face of the kid to find him or her in the

database.

While

driving to Officer Richards’s house, Ken commented that “You know it hard to

believe that this is even a small city of a population of 100,000 even after

the incidents”. The Sketch artist replied “Sir it the weekend it quite normal

to see only few cars on the road as this is a quiet place and not a very happening

place”. Ken asked the sketch artist “Are you a resident here?” Artist replied

“No sir I was recently transferred as the previous sketch artist died from a

heart attack”.

Healy

interrupted their conversation and said “Guys we have arrived this is the

house”. Ken and gang exited the car and rang the bell to Officer Richard’s

house and soon the door was opened by an old man in his 50s. Richard asked “Who

are you? I don’t think I ordered anything today?” Healy removed her wallet and

showed her FBI batch and Richard allowed them to enter his house.

Everyone

took a seat and then Ken started his questioning regarding the kids and Richard

replied that he vaguely remember them and could maybe help them out by

describing one of the child’s face and then started to work with the sketch

artist and soon enough the sketch was prepared and when Ken saw it he was

completely shocked .

Ken

while shaking his hands said to Healy “This is one of the kids from the

escapist of the mental hospital case I was reading on the plane” and removed

the file from his backpack and showed the photo to Richard to confirm the

identity and Richard quiet surprised said “All of these kids are the ones that

told me about the missing people but I rejected them as they were only 13 to 15

and I thought that the kids were playing a prank on me”.

After

leaving Richard’s house Ken requested Healy that they visit the mental hospital

once for their investigation and to assign the sketch artist Jason to the

investigation team as he might be of help when they finally find the kids and

the only thing Healy replied was that they need to have a talk and headed to

the Hotel to have lunch and talk.

After

reaching they left Jason in Ken room and headed to talk in Healy room and right

after closing the door, Healy asked “What are you doing Ken? Instead of focusing

on the main case you want to run around finding these kids who are clearly

crazy and probably have zero relation to our case at all”. Ken replied “At

least I have a clue that may lead us somewhere you department were not able to

even make a suspect and this is my case if you bother me again I shall request

to the government for a new partner”.

Ken

slammed the door and went to his room where he took Jason with him down for

lunch to the hotel lunch hall. Healy murmured to herself if only he was not a

legendary detective that caught the number one serial killer Eye Ball when he

was only 16 and made all the necessary call requested by Ken.

After finishing lunch everyone got into the car and Ken asked “Healy where are we

going next is the Asylum open on weekends” and Healy answered that it is closed and that they will go there tommorow.
