Slipped Away

Slipped Away

00 - e n c o u n t e r

WITH EVERY STEP my legs felt heavier. My heart was beating as fast as race cars and my throat felt dry, my stomach shrank . Passing by a bunch of convenience stores and even more people with my backpack slamming onto my back with each step and my amice propped so it's just below my eyes. I don't know how I got into the situation that I have to hide.I looked up one little drop after another.

Great, it just had to start raining now.

Soon enough I was drenched. It didn't take long and I found under a roof in front of a ramen shop, but I wasn't alone. The was a girl next to me.

She looked familiar and looked just as drenched as I was. We were both standing there awkwardly, shaking from the cold with hitting our wet bodies. Our eyes locked and she started laughing. it sounded so sweet and genuine. I then turned my whole body to her and I caught my reflexion in the shop window.

I had a freaking snot right above my upper lip. Shit. I quickly turned away embarrassed and wiped it rapidly. I didn't know I could do something this quick. What happened after was something I wasn't expecting, at all. Her angelic voice.

"Oh, I'm sorry for laughing at you just now, but," I turned and I noticed she was trying so hard not to burst out laughing, " Pffttt!" There it is. Her laughter. I was smiling at her, the whole time she was holding her stomach, and as happy tears filled her eyes.

She calmed down and stood straight, looking at me. She blushed and looked side-way. Only then I understood. I was smiling at her the whole time unknowingly like a creep, so I blushed too and looked at my shoes.

" What's your name?"I asked without thinking really. I was taken aback too by my sudden question, but it'd be way more awkward if we stayed silent till the downpour ends.

"P-pardon?"

"Well, I would like to know who to sue for defamation," I said with a smirk and she chuckled at least twice.

"I was just laughing though."

"Definitely worth the try."

Here we were again. Laughing as downpours slowing down, the sun coming up. When the rain started this street was empty, save for one to four cars passing by mistake. But as the rain backed away, there were more and more people coming onto the street.

My eyes traveled to her and she just stood there, her palm upwards trying if it's still raining. I was saddened because I felt our compulsory farewell coming near with every raindrop.

"Uh, I'm Jungkook, by the way," I said hoping she would stay and talk to me even though it wasn't raining anymore.

She smiled, "I know, it's just that you dont remember or is it that you don't want to?"

"Eh, What?" I asked sounding like a total idiot. She took a few steps in my direction and looked up at me, smiling.

"Hmm, let's try this," she said and before I could say another word or before I was able to grasp the situation she pulled me by the sleeve and kissed the space between my eyebrows and whispered:

"Kookie, let's watch cherry blossoms together again soon." After finishing that one line, she turned on her heel and went on her way.

I was so flustered I didn't know what to do, her name or where to now.

How could I possibly find a place untraceable for them when I can't even leave the freaking town.

My sweet and happy time died now. Little did I know I'd die soon after.

On ONE DAY of rainy spring, I fell in LOVE and DIED.
