Sofiah is sitting on her desk, nervously shaking her legs. Her colleagues gave her a sad look.

One of her colleague said,"You can do it, Sofiah!".

The project they have been working on for past two months was deleted accidentally and now the responsibility to tell this to her boss fell upon her. Even though she is Director Ryan's personal secretary she sometimes tend to work on the projects he is more interested on too.

Whispers erupt from everywhere. That is a sign her boss arrived. She removed her hand from her head and pat her head to make herself look more presentable. Her boss don't like it when things aren't neat. She reminded herself checked herself once more in the mirror. She took a deep breath and looked around herself to find all the other employees looking at her nervously.She gave them a smile at their way to ease them.

"Good morning, sir." she said and before she could continue on her next sentence her boss spoke,"Good morning, Secretary Sofiah. Is something matter?", he asked.

"uhm-uhm sir",she said and thought,' Am I that obvious?.'

"Yes?",he said unsure why she is so nervous.

Finally when they are in his room, she thought 'This it it.I have to tell him.Right now'

And she said, more like yelled,"SIRALLTHEFILESWEWORKEDONFOR2MONTHSACCIDENTALLYGOTDELETED."

"What? I can't hear you properly. Talk more slowly",he said.

"Sir, please don't get mad. But all the works we have been working for the past 2 years got deleted accidentally by the interns",she said and looked at him.

He had a stoic look on his face and calmly he said "Fire them!".

"Sir, please consider this again.They are more talented workers. As their mentor, it's my fault for not guiding them correctly. So I will accept any punishment.", she said.

She was so sure that either the two interns are gonna get fired or she is the one who is gonna get fired. But she is not ready for what is about to come.

After what felt like eternity Director Ryan finally said ," Then go on a date with me."

"Sir. It's okay if you want me to resi-",

"Wait. WHAT DO YOU MEAN?",she said.

"Secretary Sofiah as you already know I have a tight schedule today. So, tell me your decision by today evening and you don't have to if you want to. Take some rest while I attend the meeting", said Director Ryan and left the room leaving confused Sofiah alone.

Sofiah's inner thoughts are in turmoil. Did her boss really ask her out it really has to be a joke. For the past 2 years she worked for her, he always criticised her every move and never give a sign that he like her.

The interns entered the room and saw her. One of the intern, Riya asked her," Is Boss really angry? We are so sorry Mam."

"No, it's nothing. Leave me alone for sometime I have to work on something."

The interns left her alone sensing she is distressed and they felt guilt about her.
