Chapter 2: A Hard Time Adjusting

It was morning, the birds, as always, cheerfully chirped as the sun rose up high in the sky. It was a peaceful and blissful morning.

Well, not until she found herself being surrounded by two huge boys staring at her. She was just stuck being stared at by these two while she found herself fidgeting uncomfortably. She was forced to endure the uncomfortable feeling due to their piercing stares.

She doesn't know how she ended up here at all, as soon as she woke up, she was surprised to find herself being surrounded by two young boys as they intensely stared at her.

The two seem like around the age of 5-8 years old. So they were all just kids, basically. So she didn't think much of them except for being just kids.

"She's so small!"

"Shh! Don't shout or you'll startle her!"

"But she really is small!"

"Yeah, I know, but speak gently. I heard babies are sensitive."

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

She looked at the two young boys as they were both talking to each other. She breathed out sigh of relief when the attention was away from her for a bit.

As the two were distracted with each other's conversation, she started thinking again.

The two boys wore elegant outfits and has a noble aura exuding on them. They don't seem to be just some random kids that got lost and ended up here.

And the most important part, she noticed that they all look like the beautiful silver-haired woman and the tall dark blue-haired man. Basically the same parents that cradled her in their arms during her first arrival here in this world.

One of them has silky dark blue hair and golden eyes, the exact replica of the father, while the other one was the exact look-alike of the mother with the silver hair and purple eyes.

It wasn't hard for her to piece it all together. They're siblings. It seems that they're her brothers and that she's the youngest among the three of them. She's still isn't sure if she has more siblings though.

Who would've thought that she would have siblings in this world. The thought of having sibling never crossed her mind.

She stared at the little symbol that was attached to their clothes. The symbol was what represents their family and she couldn't get over about something that she found out.

It was already three days since she came to this world, and there was one thing she found out about her family.

And that she's a part of the royal family. When she came to know her family name, she was shocked to see the moment she knew about it.

Leonite.

With the help of the knowledge given to her, she found out that Leonite is an Empire known for being a powerful country that excells in wealth, military, politics and magic. And that same Empire is being ruled by the Leonite Family, the family she's now born in. It's like the most perfect Empire that no one thought would exist.

She could still remember how shocked she was to found out about this. She thought she was just born in a normal noble family but who would've thought that it would turn out like this.

Her thoughts was cut off when someone poked her cheek. She looked at them and found them staring at her again.

The one that was poking her cheek was the dark blue-haired one. He was giggling at her and she just felt stuck again. She felt so awkward just lying there while they are here staring and playing with her cheeks.

The silver-haired one, also joined in, poking her soft cheeks while the person that owned those said cheeks was lying there, waiting for the day to end.

She sighed as she let them play with her puffed up cheeks.

------------

After the boys left, she was finally left alone. It was awkward for someone who is mentally older to be trying to pretend to be a baby.

She was the only one left in the room, as the maids already left after they fed her and cleaned her. She was once again left alone with only her thoughts.

As she breathed in, she started to collect her thoughts. As expected, it's still hard for her to accept her current reality right now so she still needs time to adjust.

Thankfully, since she's still a baby, she still have plenty of time to spare.

Truth to be told, she doesn't know what she will do once she starts adjusting to this world. She has already let go of everything when she died in her past life.

She thought that once everything will end, it will end and nothing can change that, but she was proven wrong given the situation she's in right now.

Will it really be alright for her to live in this world?

Does she really have the desire to?

Even though she already decided to let everything go the moment she accepted death?

...Does she really deserve this?

She sighed as her mood became somber. She felt frustrated as she doesn't really know what to do anymore. She feels pathetic that she can't make any decisions for herself and only kept asking herself more and more questions.

She stared at the open window in her room, it was still ealry in the afternoon and the sun is still up, she can see how bright and peaceful the outside world is.

A sight where she can't find in her previous life.

As silence filled the room, only the sound of a gentle gust of wind, and the rustling of leaves can be heard within her ears.

Closing her eyes, she felt the rays of sunshine seeping through the window, touching her gently with it's warm touch.

'Your name will be Ivia Rozellete Leonite'

A sudden memory came passing through her mind as she remembered the voice of the person that gave birth to her. Her mother.

She can still remember how she smiled at her so kindly and how she carried her gently within her arms. She felt warm as she was showered with affection that was so unfamiliar to her.

She wondered the reason behind the sudden memory of her new mother, and she might know why.

It was because she remembered how pleasently warm she felt when she was gently carried within her arms and as she smiled warmly at her as if she was the best thing that ever happen to her.

She's like an embodiment of sunshine.

Ivia Rozellete Leonite...

That's her name, the name that was given to her the moment she came to this world.

'Ivia...that's my name..'

She thought and felt her eyelids starting to feel heavy.

Her tired self drifted to sleep as she slowly closed her eyes. She slept peacefully under the warm touch of sunshine seeping through her window.

---

Meanwhile, in a certain office, a certain man has a deep scowl on his face. Displeasure oozing on his face as he glared at the man in front of his desk.

"What did you say?"

Clyde with his dark blue hair and fierce golden eyes, he asked the old man in front of him.

The man that was in front of Clyde seem to be wearing pure white robes laced with golden outlines. He seems to be quite important for him to have an immediate audience with the emperor himself.

The old man, seemingly unaware of the displeasure and anger in Clyde's face, repeat what he just said, completely unaware of the fire that he was continuously fanning.

"We want to take in the princess, your highness, as we have already heard the news of her birth, we need to take her in while she's still young."

When the old man said that, his face was showing an evil grin as greed was all over his wrinkly old face. It was already obvious of what they're going to use her for. Money and Power.

The man flinched when Clyde slammed his hands in his desk. Clyde was literally fuming to the point that he can feel his veins popping.

The audacity of the church to try and rob his daughter off of her own family and childhood! They dare try taking her away when she's still a mere infant?

He had the strong urge to lift his entire desk and throw it at the old man. He was feeling violent and was considering actually doing it. They were really eager to take away his daughter, aren't they?

But he needed to stay calm, this isn't the time to be angry. He has to do all of this step-by-step. If he's careless, everything will just fall apart and he doesn't want that to happen.

As he breathed heavily, he looked up on the old man and smiled as he pretended that his sudden outburst didn't happen, as if his veins wasn't popping just a few seconds ago.

"My apologies, it seems that I have lost my composure. It seems that I've been too stressed out lately with the amount of paperwork that I have to do."

Clyde faked a smile at the old man, hiding his murderous inner thoughts and the plans that he's meticulously planning behind their back.

"Oh, is that so? Hahahaaha! So that's why! Paperwork is always something we always dreaded and never enjoy."

Fooled by his facade, the old man laughed loudly as he brushed off Clyde's sudden outburst. He truly wasn't aware of the dark and frightening thoughts that was occupying Clyde's mind.

Clyde joined in the laughter as he chuckled lightly. The fake smile still placed on his face. His icy cold smile could literally freeze anything but it seems that the old man did not even notice. Is he dense or just a mere fool?

"Please inform the church that I'm thinking about it, as you can see, our daughter is still young and is still a part of the Leonite Empire's royal family and also the first princess of the royal bloodline. You know our family, right? The royal bloodline is important to us and it will be hard for us to let go of our precious daughter so easily. I hope you understand, please relay that to the higher-ups of the church."

He said as he smiled lightly, while the old man chuckled and grinned at him.

"Sure, I'll make sure to inform the church. We're expecting some good news, your majesty."

The old man left after that, completely unaware of what's to come in the future. Unaware of the dark future that will soon come upon the church.

'It seems that the church is truly a lost cause. They are nothing but a bunch of useless fools in that place. They were really bold to come in as they please inside my domain.'

He thought as he smiled ominously as his attendant shivered at the sight of him smiling. It seems his majesty is writing another handful of names in his list of targets.

Without knowing anything, the old man left like that without even realizing the hidden warning tucked underneath his polite words.

'The princess, will be, and will always will be a part of the royal bloodline. She belongs to the Leonite Family and no one else's. Disregard that fact and the royal family will be your enemy.'
