Episode 5

Belle's POV

It's been two weeks, since that incident. I haven't taken a single step out of my house. I got many calls from Eric and Agnes in these last two weeks, asking me if I was feeling alright. I answered their calls by saying I was fine, but I never felt like I was fine. I could hardly sleep these days. But after a long time, today, I was feeling a bit energetic, so went out for a long run, then I made a delicious brunch for myself, I have also washed my hair today. Today, I feel like myself, after a long time.

But now, I was getting ready to meet Mr. Scott. He called me and said that he wanted to meet me and I agreed. So, here I am, wearing black skinny jeans and a black tank top with a red and black checked shirt. After a long time, I am wearing my favorite black boots. I have left my long hair fall free. You can say to, show off, 'cause why not? I have washed them today after all.

Finally, I took a cab to Mr. Scott's house. He doesn't live with Eric and his house is a bit far to walk there. It took me 20 mins to reach there, even with a cab. His house is bigger than Eric's. I rang the doorbell and a house lady opened the door for me, I told her, who I was and why I came. She took me to the garden, where Mr. Scott was enjoying his late afternoon tea.

"Oh, Belle you're here," he said with a big smile.

"Yes, Mr. Scott. How are you?" I asked warmly.

"I'm fine. Here, have a seat." He said, gesturing me with his hand, to sit beside him on the bench.

"You're in a great mood today," I said, sitting beside him.

"Yeah, I feel, as if all my stress is taken away, after looking at your pure and innocent smile.."

He was more relaxed, unlike, most of the time when he carries that facial expression, full of stress and anxiety.

"Daisy, bring something to drink for Belle," he said to the house lady, she nodded and went away.

"Is there something important, that you asked me to come over to your house?" I asked him politely.

"Well, I was worried about you," he said, patting my head with a warm smile. "Eric told me, that you have locked yourself in your house for two weeks." he completed his sentence with a concerned look on his face.

"Mr. Scott, I didn't lock myself in the house, you know my health issues. I wasn't feeling great for the last two weeks. But look, now I am totally fine, so no need to worry," I told him, gently holding his hand, with which he was patting my head.

He sighed. "Belle, you are like a daughter to me.. " he said looking at me with a sad facial expression, "When Agnes told me about your health, I got really worried."

Meanwhile, Miss Daisy brought my favorite milkshake for me.

"There is no need worry, look I am perfectly fine," I told him.

"Listen to me Belle, I don't know what you think about us, but, to us, me, Agnes and Eric, you are like a part of our family. And, we want the best for you," he told me with a concerned expression, I was started to feel a bit emotional at this point.

"Mr. Scott, it's not like that, you are like my father to me and Eric, he always loves me as his younger sister, and Agnes, she is like a friend and an older sister to me. All of you, never let me feel like an orphan." I told him emotionally.

"As I told you, Belle, we all want the best for you and the best concerning your health is, your marriage with Mrs. Smith's son," he said with a concerned expression.

"Mr. Scott, I don't understand, why is everyone forcing me to marry him?" I asked, massaging my forehead with my right hand, I could feel my headache again.

"We are forcing you, because, we care for you and you need someone who can take good care of you," he said.

"Mr. Scott, I am and I can take good care of myself," I told him.

"Belle, what's wrong with you? We are only thinking about you and look don't even care" he said emotionally.

"Mr. Scott, it's not like—

" Then prove it," he said.

"What?" I asked in disbelief.

"We have always taken care of you, but, you have never shown your concern towards us," he said coldly.

"Mr. Scott, what are you saying?" I asked with my eyes widened.

"Then, prove it, Belle. Prove it, that you think of us as your true family."

"But, how? I've already told you that—

"Marry Jason". he said.

"Prove it" .."Marry Jason", Mr.Scott's voice was ringing in my ears.

I was sitting on my sofa. I left Mr. Scott's house telling him that I will think about marrying Jason, but now, my head was throbbing in pain. I was unable to think about anything, so I picked up my phone and called Mrs. Smith.

"Hello?"

"Hello?" said the woman's voice from the other side.

"Am I talking to Mrs. Claudia Smith?" I asked, it was the first time I've called her.

"Madam is busy right now. Can I get your name and your purpose for calling Miss? " she asked in her professional tone.

"Sure, my name is Belle Ray. I called, because I wanted to talk about something important, which, I am sorry, I can't tell you," I told her politely.

"Can I get your name again, Miss?" she asked, she sounded as if she was in a hurry.

"My name is Belle Ray," I told her again.

"Miss Ray, I am putting on hold for some time, I think Madam is free now, please let me check," she said and I agreed.

After a few seconds,

"Belle dear?" I heard a familiar voice from the other side.

"Mrs. Claudia Smith?" I asked.

"Yes dear, Claudia Smith speaking," she said warmly. "I think I know why you've called, so let me ask, what do you think?" she said with joy and excitement filled in her voice.

I knew what her question meant, so I told her " Mrs. Smith, I would like to meet you in person because as of now, I have many questions which are making it hard for me to make out a certain decision."

"It's okay dear, you can ask me as many questions as you want. Tomorrow, I'll send a chauffeur to your house, who will drive you here. Then, we'll talk in person." she said.

"Okay, Mrs. Smith," I said.

"Then, see you tomorrow dear," she said and the call ended.

My headache fainted after talking to her. I went to the bedroom and took my sleeping pills, then I silently lied on the bed and I don't know when I fall asleep.
