It was already evening by the time Mr Andrew, the doctor walked home from the hospital.

...He moved faster along the street pathway so that he would reach home in time before total darkness covered the whole city. His footsteps and the trees swaying in the breeze kept a little girl in the bush company, and gave her twinkle of hope for survival. She helplessly lay under a big tree. Perhaps this man walking past her may glance at her side and discover that there was a human being...

...while Mr Andrew seemed to moved away a little from where the girl was, the fear of being totally lost in the in the bush struck her, she went near to the man.She made a shrill sound that brought Mr Andrew to standstill. The man leaned his ear to the direction the noise was coming from. There was silence. Then, as he made a move to walk away, the sound hit his ears but this time it was louder and panting. He halted just to decide what to do next. After some time , he walked towards the direction of the noise. Curiosity led him him on....

As Mr Andrew moved along the bush track, he made way for himself. Slowly, he walked until he reached a tall tree then he sensed where the noise came from. He searched round the tree before he saw somebody lying under the tree. He went closer and touched the person to check if she was dead. Then she opened her eyes

"Who are you? Why are you lying here in this bush? I though you were dead."

"Hello my name is Diana," She continued. "I ran away from my Aunty. When I became tired and could not continue because of hunger. I have been lying down here hopelessly for the past two hours before I had your footsteps. I made those sounds to draw your attention. I was afraid that no one would discover me.” Diana answered

"Are you from this city?" Mr Andrew asked. “Yes I am". “ Stand up and follow me” Mr Andrew said and pulled her up. “Little girl, I want you to follow me to my house and tell me about yourself later”

Mr Andrew'a mansion was big enough to accommodate him and his household. He entered his house and gave Diana a sign to come in after him, he sat down and asked the girl to do the same as she trembled softly. His wife welcomed him with a wide smile and a kiss on his check followed by his children. “Oh, we have a visitor, her name is Diana. A visitor from our city, we'll all get to know her better”

“Ok dad” His children answered with a smile on their faces. His wife immediately entered the kitchen to prepare dinner. Mr Andrew felt that he sense of generosity had never failed or disappointed him before.
