Life in a different world

I am Harte, the CROWN PRINCE of this country... and... this is my story. You may not believe it but I am a man of the modern world of Earth who is stucked here in the ancient era of this world that is not Earth.

I cannot actually say it's Ancient era cuz there are mobile phones, cars, and many other gadgets here which only work with magic rather than electricity or batteries.......but it's ancient cuz in this world the king is the ruler rather than presidents and there are disputes regarding the throne where people can even take the life of other and there is no equality for men and women.

I am quite fortunate to be born as a male...to be specific...as the CROWN PRINCE. But is it really fortunate to be born as the crown prince? Because of this position of mine many people follow me around but not everyone can be trusted right? Who knows when even the closest person may stab you from behind and you may not even know it.

I am not bragging but in this world, I was born a genius. After all, I had all the memories of my past life and my brain was not that of an ordinary child. It was surprising that theories of Earth could be applied in this world as well except those magical stuffs. Many theories were not even developed in this world.....so I was a born genius.

I am quite a quick learner....and that's a thanks to my dad from my past life as he wanted me to be perfect in everything.....so this helped me a lot to cope up with this new life but it is quite a tough job to be a crown prince. Not everyone in this family can be trusted. I have 2 elder brothers and 7 sisters out of which 5 are elder and 2 of them are younger.

You must be thinking why am I the crown prince even though I have 2 elder brothers. But you should have guessed it by now.... that's because I am a genius. Well to be exact it's because my eldest brother is clumsy and not that smart while my 2nd eldest brother is an introvert which makes me the best choice among the 3 of us.

My eldest brother hates me and it can be clearly seen. He does not even tries to hide it... As for my 2nd eldest brother, I trust him the most. Though he is an introvert, he is quite smart and I respect him. He helps me a lot in my problems and adores me.

From the day I was born, in this place, everyone followed me around and "loved" me but among all of them, I believe that only 2 people truly loved me; my 2nd brother and Phaedra, my lover. We were together ever since we first met at my 3 years birthday party. She was different. Different from all the other girls following me 24/7.

Phaedra is the only girl that I've ever loved......well in my previous life I died in the young age of 17 and there was noone I liked. But age doesn't really matter to meet the fated one right? Seeing that I am even younger right now in this life.

Phaedra was the strongest girl I've ever met. She gave me strength when I needed it the most. Between the two of us there was nothing personal, we shared everything. She even knew about my past life and my world...my original world. She was the closest person to me in this world. She loved me for who I was and not for who I was going to be.

This love of mine did not last for long. She died due to a heart disease .....leaving me, this world and our promises behind. It's almost been 3 years since she left me but I still miss her. I am still waiting for her. I can't forget her bright smile when she looked at me; her soft, silky, long, straight black hair; ocean blue eyes and her soft, fair skin.

Tomorrow is my 18th birthday...the day when the throne will be officially given to me, the day when the grand ball will be held where I would have to choose the candidates for the position of the queen.....but I wanted her to be my only queen, my partner for life. I closed my eyes as I tried to sleep but I kept on thinking about her...I mean I could not think about anything other than her.

My biggest wish was to see her once more, to grow old with her, to talk to her, to tell her that I love her and am waiting for her. Then suddenly I heard people laughing and joking... and some were even shouting....I opened my eyes and saw something I had not seen for ages.
