Chapter 1 : Day before the fall

Once upon a time.. not too long ago, in another universe, where both humans, animals and supernatural creatures exist, there exists.. a family of wolfmen, or.. wolflings one of the supernatural creatures that existed, and No no no, not just the handy dandy usual ones, this family that I'm talking about right here, is specifically from a noble lineage. This family.. Unlike any other noble families around.. had a clean background and a clean way of work, as we'll as prioritizes their family instead of economy, politics and strength, of course that would soon lead to their downfall, but either way.. they were actually the ones that look the happiest and were the happiest among their noble neighbors. With the head of the family, the father being a cheerful, honest and understanding man, the mother, being the kindest and most beautiful woman you'll ever meet in this clan.. the elder brother, the next head, a child full of potential, having enormous love for people, the sister, the most inspiring, brave and caring person.. as a child And finally, the youngest child, being a child surrounded by love, he was of course, a cheerful wolf himself, he was.. well, just spreading positivity. due to the countless times of him over-loving all animals, certain injuries such as suffocation could be caused as he himself is still a wolf despite being a pup. Meaning his strength is way above average, unlike human children and that he unintentionally hurts other beings.

Everything was.. fine, it was just another normal day, Kiy soon woke up surrounded by his siblings, and was laying on his mother's lap. He was getting loved by his family fight from the moment, he woke up. As he went out of the room his family was in. he was constantly getting loved by his pack members, he went on and ran around playing in the garden attempting to catch butterflies, then soon running to the sand pit to try and make sand castles and he even went swimming in the river, not far from his home. Nothing was suspicious to the slightest bit. It was just another happy memory in Kiy's mind, another.. Basic day. Of course.. By now you should have started suspecting that something.. Must be wrong if I, as the narrator wrote this specific paragraph.. Well. It's because it wasn't fine. That day wasn't fine. Nothing was fine. Everything was just an illusion created by his parents, members and even siblings. Nothing, was fine. Why you might ask? Well.. The thing is, Kiy's parents, as well as his older siblings.. Had a secret they were keeping from Kiy on **that** day. They found out that the humans.. Those pesky ungrateful creatures have decided to target their household. Of course, you'd think.. \`\`Since his family was a noble one, doesn't that make them strong..?\`\` Incorrect. They were one of the weakest families with the smallest pack population in that area.. His parents and siblings, knowing their end, wanted to make this last memory of them together.. Memorable and full of joy, even with knowing what tragedy will strike the family during midnight.

"dad.. Are you sure there's no other way we could maybe.. Defend ourselves against the humans..?" Asked Kyella the elder sister as she looked towards her father.

"my dear, it's not that we can't.. It's just, what do you think would happen to our Alfe..? What do you think will happen to the maid, Isabella? What do you think will happen to all the guards and pack members here? We.. are the strongest ones in our pack, it's our duty to protect them.. as the number one."

Said the father in a serious tone as he looked into his dearest daughter's teary and scared eyes with a slight frown in his face.

"but.. but dad.. We can't just stay here and fight to our deaths.. Mom.. Mom is pregnant..! And.. Kiy is just eight! He hasn't even seen how the world is like.. Do you have the hearts to let them die here with us too.. Papa? Why don't we just lea-!" Suggested Kyella as she pointed towards her mother and sleeping little brother.

silence soon hit the room as the father interrupted the young girl in an angered tone.

"KYELLA! Everyone here is our family, We can't leave them here to die! If you think we can, just because we're in a higher rank than them, I do not think you are suitable to be in this pack, nor, in this family, " he'd pause and soon glared at his daughter.

".. leave if you think leaving them is correct, I do not need such an ignorant child." Said the father, who clearly looked quite stressed out.

Kyella who was right in front of him was shocked in the sudden anger of her father and whimpered as she started crying, she ran into her mother's embrace, and started sobbing quite loudly. Her mom was also not sure whether what they are doing right now is the right decision or not, However, she does not care. A pack dies as a pack, or they will stay alive as one, no pack members should leave their packs in the midst of danger. The mother started patting the crying child's back as she softly spoke towards her husband,

"Yin, my darling.. Why be so ferocious towards your own blood, your only daughter.. She just cares for her family.. she just cares for us.. just like you do.. Don't be mad, I don't want the last memory of you both to be understand?"

she'd say.

The father who was stressed out instantly calmed as he agreed to what was said by his wife, he truly did not want their last memories together to be.. a meaningless fight, all his daughter wanted was to be happy and alive together. after all.. they only had little to no time left to be alive.. together. happily. but still.. from the moment he took on the role of pack leader, he had to fight for his clan and be there. he can't be a **coward**. he was entrusted by his late uncle in law to lead the clan, and he had to fulfill his duty in his pack. what about his duty as a father? you might ask, well.. it's complicated.
