Pain within

Being the eldest daughter in an asian house hold is very hard. They gaslight you, manipulate you and push you to achieve the dreams that you dont even like.

In addition to that it is also a pain in the heart to know that the friends around you is only using you for what you have and what they want.

"Ely! you ungrateful child! All you ever did was to disappoint us!" my mother shouted.

"How hard can it be to pass a test! Stupid kid!" my father added

"Hoy would you know! You cant even related to my sufferings! All you see in me was the wrong things that I did!" I shouted back as my tears began to fall.

"All you guys ever did was to compare me with other and say that I'm no good even though I was doing my best!"

A sudden slap landed on my cheeks as my mother shouted:

"Shut up! How dare you say that to us! We fed you! We dressed you and let you live in our house rent free!"

"Of course you should! What stupid parents wont do that! I'm your daughter!" I cried and ran to my room.

"I hate the world. I hate that i was born, I never wished to be born." i said to my self as i cried silently in my room after hearing some hurtful words from my so called parents.

I took my pillow and used it to cover my ears.

This is another typical scene within this household, fighting, shouting and more. Living in this house i kind of like a free trial to live in hell.

Midnight has come and Ely was still crying, she mustered the courage to sneak out of their house through her window. She carefully jumped out and ran to na nearest bridge by their house.

Rain began to fall and Ely was staring down the river. With tears in her eyes and a deep breath she prepared herself to jump. And repeating in her mind that there is no point in living anyways.

She was about to jump but then someone pulled her and stopped her just in time.

With angry tears she shouted to the person.

"Why the heck did you do that!"

"Whoo! that was close, miss dont jump from this bridge! Do you want to die-"

"Yes! I want to die! Now move!" she pushed the man away but the man pulled her again.

"What the heck dude! What's your problem!"

"Miss i told you, dont jump. I know you have a problem and want to die but doing this miss not change anything. You will only leave your problem to your parents and they'll get sad and you-"

"Whoa! Shut up, dont act and say things like you know the whole story of my life."

"Im not, all I'm saying is that you dont have to do this. There are many things in life that you should enjoy. You're blessed to be given a life, a gift from God"

"I'd rather return his gift rather than suffering from it"

"Geez you really do have a lot of problem do you?" the man chuckled.

"Let go of me!" Ely shouted

"Okay fine, only if you promise to not jump"

"Ugh! Okay, Okay! Now let me go"

The man released Ely and he smiled genuinely.

"Well sorry that I ruined your plan to die but hey, Im great full that I did. My name is Zy, What's yours?"

"Just because you stopped me, doesn't mean that we are like buddies now. Why do you need to know?" Ely answered with an attitude.

"No, reason. I just want to know, is that bad? Its getting super late, Do you want me to escort you to your house or something?" Zy replied.

"No thanks i can walk by myself." she replied coldly

Ely stood there silently as Zy was staring at her as the rain began to stop. There was an awkward silence between them and all of a sudden Zy spoke.

"It's okay, you dont have to force yourself to say your name. Fine then I'll take my leave, dont jump okay?" He said as he turned and started to walk away from her slowly.

"E-Ely!"

Zy stopped and looked back at her.

"Ely, my name is Ely" she replied with a soft voice.

He smiled and said to her cheerfully

"Cute name!" then started to walk away again.

She was dumb founded not knowing how to process what just happened. She met a weird guy and the man somehow lightened the weight within Ely's heart.

As to keep her promise, She returned to her house and sneaked back to her room. She changed her wet clothes and went to her bed. Not a moment to soon she fell asleep because of the tiredness caused by her crying.

The next morning Ely woke up to a loud shout....
