Into the Unknown

It was noon once I reached the lab. I was tired from carrying my suitcase, which was full of the heavy books. The scientist opened the door. He probably recognized me from a security camera, and went inside with the suitcase and a sorry letter from me. He came out later with a revolver loaded with a glowing bullet, all colorless. I was shot.

I knew he was angry at me, so I tried not to scream. I couldn't anyways. Though I may have been shot, I was alive, with no pain at all. I was surrounded by darkness, but glowing the same as that bullet, as if it was something disguised, that I absorbed, and not actually a bullet. I felt faint, and let my consciousness flow away...

In my subconscious, I felt like I was shrinking, becoming younger, becoming... a baby. I Was Being Reborn.

I woke up with a start. A woman was smiling at me. A man - her husband - was preparing me bottled milk. Then i just realised. These were my parents in this 'Afterlife'. " Aren't you happy Dan? Yes you are!" Mother laughed. I seemed to have the same name, but was otherwise almost completely different from my 'previous life'. I was tan, short, and had purple eyes. I have carried with me two things - this, and... I can't seem to remember anything about my old life. I'm forgetting everything. It was like my brain was rebooting, ready for fresh memories. I'm beginning to even forget I had a... a... A previous life. The effect is weird. I can only think, not talk, move, remember,but one thing - The books of Dexter - the books I stole... sometime. now I'm feeling sleepy. my brain feel younger too. I ... **ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

6 years after Rebirth...

" Mom, can you remind me of the name of this planet?" I asked. " We live on the planet of Thraeta, named after one of the two discoverers of Powers, such as cultivation and Soul power and MegaRings." was my reply.

Ah, I should introduce myself. I am Daniel, a boy who turned six yesterday. I'm just learning about what is a Martial Soul. The Nectar ceremony is tomorrow. I live with my mother, and Fury - my spirit pet Phoenix.

A cool. breeze ran by through the window. I went outside and into a secret tunnel I once found. It led me to cave, glittering with ores and gems. I took the chance and went on. Today, I had brought a torch, so I decided to go deeper than I usually do. I was walking for a while when I came to a halt in front of what seemed the end of the cave. Suddenly, the rocks in front of me disintegrated as I touched them. I saw a pedestal in the center of this hidden area. The cave wall was lighted by torches as well. I went close to the beautiful, shimmering pedestal, which was carved wonderfully, and held an equally pretty box. I looked to see if anyone was nearby, and then decided to see what was in this 'special' box. As soon as I went near the box, a trigger sounded. As I was scared, I took the box itself and ran home in a hurry. I snuck it in my room, and his it under a loose floorboard under my bed that Mother didn't know about.

" Dan! It's gonna rain soon, and it's getting late. Go fetch Fury!" Mother cried out. I ran into the forest, to where Fury loved to perch when he was let free for a while. Suddenly, Fury used one of his abilities, and teleported to me. It seemed he wanted me to follow him. I felt a breeze blow, as I did. He led me through parts of the forest where it was rumored that Soul beasts and Spirit beasts roamed about. We slowed down, and I grew more cautious. The silence was disturbing. Then I heard a piercing shriek. Fury came down to passive state as I went towards the direction of the scream. (** Passive State means: when Fury turns into a tattoo on my left hand.**). The fog around me is thickening a lot. I may be brave in my own opinion, but I am still quite young, and I felt worried. A shriek sounded again, and it sounded nearby. I went through some bushes and ended up finding myself in a clearing. Around the place were statues of humans, so life-like, so real. I saw that the clearing was overgrown by rivergrass. But I was confused by one thing: why were there foot prints all around the statues?

Then I just realised something - a Beast was probably attracting and soul-freezing humans. The most probable reason for this behaviour of a Beast is to take revenge due to circumstances such as someone harming it physically, mentally or emotionally (if it has reached IQ of a human). And, according to... something?.., the most probable Beast would be a Fog-spitting Stoneape, of the Soul Beast category. I looked around the clearing, and noticed a ring on the ground. It was Deep brown with light brown stripes and white dots. The ring looked familiar. I put it on...

And I started to remember. Days and months of reading. Reading the books, the books of Dexter. Pages and pages, 'till I found the mental pages, the pure memories in my head. And I found a special memory I wanted, the Ringbook. The very ring I wore was a Memory ring, which shows you and of your own memories. I searched for the Beastbooks, and located the page about the Soul Beast...
