Love Me As I Am

Love Me As I Am

Chapter 1

February 24, 1808

It was sunny outside,

A certain 18 year old boy named Nie Kismet thought it was a good idea to go swimming in the nearby river at this certain weather, too bad he has to clean the whole library and do some other chores before the masters come home from work.

"Damn it, I'm bored" Nie exclaimed while playfully putting both of his arms to rest on his head.

He looked around for something more interesting to do,

But all he saw was lame books, dull statues and vintage paintings of famous people throughout history.

He was suppose to be doing work, but Nie Kismet is the type of person to slack off when others aren't looking.

Nie let out a sigh of boredom and laziness which echoed through the huge two story library.

"Why does this Library have to be so big?…..now I gotta clean it all up" He said as he sat down on a wooden chair with velvet cushions and diamond shaped gold on both sides, he throws the feather duster he was holding on the floor and put both of his feet on the wooden table and once again lifted both of his hands on his head to rest.

Nie was well aware that he was being a lazy ***,

But who could blame him?

He has been doing the exact same things all his life,

Always cleaning and other types of  shit…..

Nie looked out of the window which gave a perfect view of the nearby river which he thought of earlier, it was beautiful, full of fishes, trees, and the water was very clear that you could see the weeds from below and  it was incredibly blue,

Nie liked the color blue…..

"If only those fuckin knights won the war, I could have been living my whole life as a rich guy" he said bitterly as he faced a painting of a knight on his knees as he was about to be beheaded by an enemy, the knight had pure black hair, sea blue eyes and shining silver armor not to mention a pretty bloody and bruised up face, there was a golden plate below the painting which read ' General  Balemir Cowan'

"Pathetic loser" Nie whispered under his breath,

Nie always hated the 17th Century knights, because they were the reason why they lost the war to their enemy 'Tesis', they were weak and pathetic and because of that, it led to the downfall of their country 'Marianne'.

Even though, it was two hundred years ago, and Nie didn't really met them in person,  he was still very mad.….

After they lost the war many people died, many were tortured but Nie's great grandparents were lucky, because they were hardworking and had a knack for cleaning stuff, the 'tesinians' appointed them as legal maids for the rich families, since then, The Kismet bloodline has been committed on serving the  'tesinian Masters' for over two generations now.

Except for Nie though…….

He wasn't really 'that' committed in doing chores and other lady type shit.

Nie was looking at a spec of air, clearly in deep thought, until footsteps can be heard meters away from the library door,

Nie flinched and snapped back from reality.

He quickly hopped off the golden velvet chair, picked up his feather duster from the floor and ran to the nearest bookshelf as he pretended to clean in full concentration.

Then the giant wooden door swung open accompanied by a slight creak.

Then in come the lady dressed in white clothing and silky, golden apron tied around her waist, she was beautiful, but she was quite old, she had a few white hair in her temples as her hair was in a form of a neat bun and her forehead had wrinkles visibly seen from about a few feet or so.

Nie turned around to face her, he gave the old lady a 'weird' expression of awareness and an 'I didn't slack' kind of face.

The old lady raised an eyebrow at Nie as she watched him 'clean' one of the bookshelves.

"I see you've been a hard worker today?"

The old lady said in a surprised tone as she crossed her arms together on her chest.

"Um, yeah……" Nie didn't know what to say.

His eyes were starting to wander around the room.

"Boy, I am talking to you, my eyes are over here!" The old lady exclaimed rather impatiently as she pointed at her eyes and  furrowed her eyebrows together giving her the 'tyrant queen' vibe.

Nie gulped in fear, but he suck it up and let out a suave smile.

"I'm a hard worker you know that miss Francis?

people change every now or so" Nie said confidently while letting out a cheeky and childish expression.

Nie was used to lying,

He does it every single day to avoid punishments and scoldings by the masters.

"Shut your yapping Kismet, I can tell you're lying to me"

Miss Francis said as she glared annoyingly at Nie which gave him shivers up his spine.

Miss Francis Horris was the head cleaning lady, so she had the authority and power to scold and punish those people below her.

" damn old lady………….I guess you caught me"

Nie said in a playful but irritated manner as he raised both of his arms in surrender.

"For the last time boy! Respect your elders!"

Miss Francis yelled at him with furrowed eyebrows and a rather offended and irritated expression.

She was clearly offended.

"Fine, fine, fine……I won't do it again" Nie said rather in an annoyed and stubborn way.

Miss Francis's gaze went from Nie to the bookshelves around her, she went to it slowly as her shoes were making 'clanking' noises, it echoed through the whole library which made this moment more scary and unsettling for Nie.

She then drag one of her fingers on the shelves,

"Its dusty"

Nie let out a small gulp,

"Um……..ok…..I'm sorry for being a lazy bum but it's so boring here, who could blame me?"

Miss Francis lifted her both of her eyebrows.

"As the Great General Balemir Cowan once said,'You have no one to blame but yourself, people who tend to neglect their duties shall not have the right of gaining honor', do you get what I'm saying boy?" Miss Francis said as she scowled at Nie intensely.

"Oh please, that Balemir guy was all bark and no bite"

Nie said irritatingly as he leaned his body against the wall while crossing his arms together in a stubborn manner.

"What are you saying?! General Balemir was a hero, even though we lost in the end, it's the thought that counts! He was a rare talent, he sacrificed his life just to save ours!"

Miss Francis started lecturing and scolding Nie for a while, she was clearly offended and annoyed that Nie berated a national Marriane 'hero'.

"Can we stop talking about this?! This is so out of topic!"

Nie said in a clearly irritated manner, as his voice started to raise in anger.

Miss Francis let out a soft sigh of surrender.

"As punishment, go to the horse stable and help Joe clean all those horses for an entire week" She said as she scowled at Nie with both of her arms still crossed together.

"WHAT?! Nooooo, anything but that! I dont wanna smell like horse shit for a whole week!!" Nie shouted desperately as he tried Miss Francis to give him another punishment.

"You already smell like horse shit"

Miss Francis said cheekily.

"There are no other options, you shall begin your stable cleaning duties at noon SHARP!" she said in the most robotic and expressionless way possible.

"But-"

"No buts,  we shall have lunch with the others in about 20 minutes or so, be there, for now you shall continue cleaning the library,

Once you're done eating your lunch, DO YOUR DUTIES"

She said while walking towards the door with a scowl on her face.

She was about to leave but she added saying "you should consider General Balemir as your role model, he is the definition of honor and courage" after that statement she left the room and everything was all quiet.

"Pshh ….. what's so good about that Balemir guy anyway?"
