FIRST DAY IN NEW SCHOOL

"Mom, I gotta go." Evelyn, a high school girl gets out of her home shouting and slammimg the door.

"Carefully Eve." Her father speaks slowly .

"Papa, I am so excited for today. Let's go."

Evelyn sits in the back of her father's bike. She sees the new place, new face, new road and everything new. It's just been some weeks since they migrated to the country side from the big city Kathmandu, Nepal.

She feels the fresh air throughout her body. The gentle hair keeps lingering through her hair which makes her feel little irritated.

"Papa, are you okay?" She asks while looking at her father.

"Of course, Eve. Why are you asking me that?"

"Just because. I love you."

"I love you more my child."

They don't talk much until they reach the school. Evelyn's father used to be a prestigious teacher in the city. He was well respected and loved by many. He was popular among the students too. After Evelyn's father got in the accident, the family changed. The loving and sound family became unhappy. They thus returned to their old hometown, Pathari, a small village in Nepal.

"It's your first day in here. Have a good day my baby. Make new friends today."

"Thank you papa. You too , have a great day." She kisses her father on his cheek and waved goodbye.

"Aah, the first day. Let it go fine."

Actually Evelyn is worried cause she is introvert and doesn't easily be involved with others. She has that resting bitch face which makes her look so intimidating. Nobody wants to talk to her and after going to know her, she is such a sweetheart.

Eve was walking and suddenly she saw a boy got hit with volleyball on his forehead. The boy flew and fell down in front of Eve. He got wound on his forehead and he was in the verse of crying but smiled at Eve even when in pain. Like, the boy looked so funny. His expression was so funny. Eve looked the boy and started laughing pointing at his face.

"Are you alright?" said Eve laughing and giving her hand to the boy.

"I am fine." The boy murmured patting his head and looking down.

"Are you new here?"

"Umm.. it's my first day today."

"Oh, which class are you in?"

"I am in grade 11, section II."

"Oh, nice to meet you. I am in grade 12. I will show you your classroom."

"Nice to meet you too."

Eve and the boy walked together and reached the class. The boy showed her the classroom and smiled.

"Your name?"

"It's Evelyn. And yours?"

"It's Eugene. Let's meet again"

They smiled and waved goodbye.

"Khun? What's Khun?"

"Bloot. It's bloo_t." says Alice.

"Bloot or Blood?" whimpers Evelyn.

"Yes bloot."

"Nevermind."

Alice, new friend of Eve. It's been around 2 months since Eve met Eugene. After the incident, she never saw or talked with Eugene again. DMC (her school's name) was so big, newbies can get lost in here for many days.

"Eve, the botany teacher is calling you."

"I'll be there in a minute."

"Eve, I need you to do a project together with one of your senior I've chosen. If you do better, you'll be able to win first place in upcoming summer program."

"I will try but what is it about? Sir?"

"Wait, I will explain to you both when he arrives here."

*Knock Knock

"Come in."

"What is it about sir?" A familiar faint, hoarse voice enters the room. Eve looks at the person and boom it's Eugene.

He smiles at Eve.

"Hey"

"Oh, hi"

"Okay, now I want you two to present about the importance of Botanical Gardens in this planet. You guys have to dig something deep and present it well. It's not like you guys are child or anything right?. Do your best."

Both of them walks out of the teacher's room and looks at each other.

"What happened to your forehead again?"

"Oh, this? My baby brother headbutted me. He is so strong even though he's small, you know?"

"Are you serious?" says Evelyn laughing.

"I wish I was not but no" Eugene smiles.

"How come I never see you in school Eugene?"

"Do you look for me? Is it love at first sight hmm?" grins Eugene jokingly.

"No.. I mean.."

"Hahaha, I m joking dumboo."

Eugene question actually took Eve back because it was true. It was love at first sight for her. That small but his shiny eyes, height double as tall as her, big bumpy muscle, and his physique was no wonder. That hoarse voice, actually Eve already fell for him. She was so happy inside that she got to do project together with Eugene.

"Did you had your lunch?"

"Yes, I did."

"Oh, I have yet to do. Let's meet tomorrow in dance hall and have meeting regarding the project."

"Sure"

"Bye, Eve. See you."

"See you."

It was the first time Eugene called Eve "Eve". Her heart was beating rapidly and she was blushing.

*Back in the classroom

"Eve, are you sick?" Lily asks.

"No, I saw her together with Eugene just now. Her heart may be beating fast." Lucy interrupted.

"Stop, you guys."

They laughed.
