Chapter 1

Grace's point of view.

i was alone in the darkness. i can't feel anything nor can i see anything. i felt numb. suddenly i saw a familiar figure standing in the darkness staring at me with expressionless face. i saw him walking away from me. i tried to catch up to him. i tried to scream, beg but nothing came out of my mouth.

it felt hard to breathe when i suddenly woke up from my nightmare. the same nightmare that has been haunting me for years. i was drenched in sweat. my heart was beating rapidly against my chest.

i looked at the clock beside my bed. it was five in the morning. i decided to get up and go for a jog to clear my mind.

i went to the bathroom and stared at my reflection in the mirror. my eyes were puffy and red, hair sticking to my forehead. i washed my face and changed in to my joggers and a tank top before i step outside.

the morning air hit my face, instantly making me relax as i went to jog.

after a while-:

it was already eight am and I'm running late to go to my job. i work in the small cafe not so far away from my home. i live alone, my parents died when i was three in an accident. my aunt took me in and brought me up but she too passed away three years ago leaving me all alone.

as i was busy in my thoughts i bumped into someone. i looked up to see a man who looked angry and was ready to snap at me but i quickly apologize to him making him stop. he said nothing but stared at me. i looked at him in confusion. i apologised once more before brushing past him without looking back.

i made my way inside the cafe. the smell of coffee hit my nostrils making me crave one for myself. my coworker james came and greeted me with his warm smile.

i smiled back and greeted him back with a small "good morning". i felt someone's eyes on me. i looked around but found no one. am i getting paranoid? i shook my head and went to work.

the cafe was more busy today than usual. it's going to be a long day.

Xavier's point of view.

I'm fucking annoyed right now, that motherfucker, made me wait for him ten minutes and didn't show up at all.

i am going to kill him. i called one of my men and told him to pull out our investments from his company. I'll make him go bankrupt.

as i was talking on my phone i felt something soft colliding with me. i looked down to see a girl with the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. i was about to snap at her but she quickly apologized to me. her voice was like music to my ears. i kept staring at her beautiful hazel eyes when she looked at me with confusion in those innocent hazel orbs and said something and went away.

i was lost in those eyes when i realised she was already gone. i looked back to see she entered a small cafe around the corner and i followed her behind hastily.

i looked inside through the glass window. she was talking to a guy and was smiling at him which made me annoyed for some reason.

i dialled my private investigator's number and told him to get her information.

she's going to be mine soon.
