Rena's POV
I woke up in a mysterious place, it's very bright. I'm on a bed. I looked over to my injured hand, it's bandaged up and quite thick. I moved my hand, and it hurt a little, soon the bandaged starts to turn red. I was confused, until I heard a female's voice saying" Your awake! Don't move too much, your still not in a good condition..." I looked at her and asked "Where am I ? Who are you?" She looked at me with a surprised expression, then into some kind of sympathy look. She told me "You are currently in White Hospital. I feel really bad for you, your still so young yet you have to go through this. You must be really scared." I looked at her and said "No, I'm fine. This is normal." The nurse was shock, she probably didn't expect this response from me, but that's how it is for me....
"Well, you don't have to worry much! Your medical fees will be count as a little help from Dr. Melissa. After all, it's our job to help others, I just hope your feeling right" said the nurse. "Dr. Melissa?" I asked. The nurse replies "Yeah! She was the one that bandaged your hand!" Then the nurse proceeds to look over my arm and her face suddenly looked worried. "Oh my God! Your wound had reopened! Stay here, I'll go get Dr.Melissa." Just like that, the nurse ran off.
Not long after the nurse came back, with a woman. She had light pink hair and green eyes. She looked smart and confident. Makes her really easy to talk to.
She looked at me and said "You just woke up not long and already give me trouble. What are you trying to accomplish? I'm very busy you know?" I don't know how to reply, so I kept silent. She walked close to me, and looked at my arm. Her face went from slight annoyance to almost exploded...She looked over to the nurse and said "So, you called me over just to let me see this?" The nurse said "I'm still a newbie, Melissa. Besides, I don't even know how her wound look like, I only know her backstory from other nurses!" Dr.Melissa wasn't that happy. I can tell that those nurses that talked about me are going to be in trouble. Then Dr. Melissa said "You guys are worthless, it's just re-bandaging a wound and you had to call me over." The nurse replied "You weren't doing anything though, you were just sitting in your office and scrolling through your phone."
Dr.Melissa looks at my wound and starts helping me to re-bandage it. She was gentle, through out the whole process, I could barely feel anything at all. After it's done she looked at me and said "You really are amazing. Through the whole process of bandaging your wound, you didn't move at all, not to mention made a sound." I don't understand what she meant. Was I supposed to do something? And so I asked her "Was I suppose to do something?" She looked at me surprised and said "It's best that you don't, but most kids around your age or even older than you would scream and cry, moving around beacause of the pain. As if they are going to die any moment." I thought to myself, are kids really like that? I couldn't remember the last time I cried or scream.
Dr.Melissa soon left, and before she left she said "Take care of yourself. Your wound is quite deep, so it'll took around two weeks to heal. And also, since your parents are no longer an option for going back, do you have any other relatives you can count on? I'll leave you alone. Take some time and think about it, after all I can't keep you here forever." I thought about it, and I don't remember anyone else. The last time visitors came to the house was probably when I was 3, there were a lot. I don't know any of them. And so, I didn't bother to think too much about it. Since I'm no longer with my parents, that means I can be free right? I can finally see the world, and see how humans usually are. I spent two days in the hospital walking around. I discovered a place that seems a lot of children were there. They would always go there to play or draw or do other things. I don't understand why they're doing these things nor how is it supposed to benefit them. I'm always known to be a more sensible and smart kid. My mom always said that to me. However, I don't go to kindergarten or have anyone teach me anything. My mom regularly goes to the library and brings back a lot of books. Mostly are books that are sentimental and has lots of meaning to it. If there's one thing I understand that's not about me, it's definitely my liking for quotes. I like to read them. I find them every meaningful. Thinking about this, makes me think about the books that my mom kept at home. if I had the chance, I want to bring them with me, I want to read them.
And....that's all for this chapter! Next chapter someone is going to come and pick her up from the hospital. Can you guess who?
