The Blood Moon

The Blood Moon

Ch.1 Death

at first, I was against my father's wishes of marrying the girl of my father's friend. but once I saw how much this meant to him. I couldn't help but give in.

I stood in my room. staring emotionlessly in the mirror. my red eyes gazing back at my reflection. I was getting married. my life would be ruined. but then again. what life did I have before that is so precious now?

I was a partier, drinker, a player but now....I have to pursue my role as the king's son. Prince Damían , the heir of King Lucien of the royal kingdom of vampires. I sighed heavily as I sat down on my bed. the curtains closed to avoid contact with the sun.

" Prince, ur father wants to have a word" one of my servants smiled as he opened the door to reveal my father with a grim look sprawled on his face. " what's going on?" I asked. " nothing, I just wanted to congratulate my son for stepping up to the throne" he smiled. this was wierd. he hardly smiled. was he this happy?

" I'll see u at the ceremony, don't be late ur fiance is waiting" he chuckled hugging me tightly. he released me and hands me the rings. " father weren't u going to be my ring bearer?" I spoke confused on why he handed me them. " I won't make it, just make us happy, Damián" he sighs happily before leaving the room.

I stared at the matching rings in my hand. why were they both male rings? the ring maker must've made a mistake. but then again gay marriage was common here in the underworld.

I quickly put the rings in my pocket and followed my servant out. my siblings waited outside the house. they wore black clothing and held their black umprella's high. smiling. why did their smiles look so....fake? i returned the smile and allowed my mother to hug onto my arm as my sister did the same. my older brothers followed behind.

wedding music played from the orchestra in the village. I walked up the rose filled path. villagers and nobles watched as I took my place on the throne. my brother's stood with their wives as my sister's stood with their husbands. everyone in the pews look as if they are awaiting something. I know this is a wedding but why do they look so scared. that's when I noticed the weapons lined up behind the big tables.

my eyes widen. I tried to piece everything together. but I was missing majority of this whole situation. I got quickly distracted as my future wife walked slowly up the rosey path.

her long black dress and her red lipstick stood out from the crowd. her blonde hair fell onto her shoulders. I held out my hand as she grew closer. violet roses in her hands.. she grasp mine as she stood in front of me. " let the ceremony begin" my mother spoke as she held out the marriage promising blade.

my fiance's name was Víctoría. she was the daughter of the human couple, the Valencia family. she was only 15 and I was 18. I kinda felt bad for her. she didnt even finish school and she had to give up her Freedom to be with me.

" I Víctoría, take Prince Damián, to be my undead husband" Víctoría smiled. her heart beating really fast. " I Damián take Noble Víctoría to be my soon undead wife" I spoke. her eyes slightly held the sight of fear.

" bite the bride, my son" my mother said as she touched my shoulder. my eyes gleamed a lighter shade of red as my fangs protruded from my gums. I held Víctoría hand tightly as I leaned forward.
