Psycho Apocalypse
Psycho Apocalypse |Chapter One
•Cylen Takishima•
"Drop your weapon! You're surrounded!" Gave yelled, he's the person who's currently leading the group who's fighting against us.
We've been chased by them for quite some time and this is not the first time I've been put in this kind of situation.
I roamed my gaze around. Certainly, I'm surrounded. 2 to my left, 4 at the back, 2 at my right and 6 infront.
Slowly, I dropped my weapon, not because I surrendered but because it is for the best. If I continue to resist, they might shoot me without hesitation. Finally relieved that I am weaponless, Gave carefully walked towards me, with handcuffs with him. He was about to secure me with it but a loud bang interrupted him.
When he turned around to see what it is, I took it as a chance to break free. I kicked him at the back of his knee, making him stumble, and with great strength I gave him a drop kick on the stomach. I can't imagine his pain right now, but oh well, he's strong so he'll survive that.
I took his hand cuffs and used it to tie him on a nearby post lamp. I laughed heartily when I heard him curse.
The police who surrounded me moments ago is busy exchanging bullets with someone. So with pride and confidence, I picked my gun and the case which I stole from a famous senator, the reason why they are chasing us right now.
"We're not done yet Blade!" Gave screamed but I just shrugged him off.
Almost half of the police was taken care of, though it doesn't necessarily mean that we killed them. We're thieves but not murderers. Some of them were shot on the arm, some are on shoulder or leg, which are just meant to prevent them from stopping us from escaping.
From a far, I saw Jarius firing at the remaining officers. He's not part of our combat team but he fights well. He normally stays at the quarters or in a car to give instructions but since I'm in the mood to make somebody miserable, I placed him in the front line today.
I carefully walked towards him, hinding behind posts and cars in the prosses to avoid bullets from the other side. When I finally reached him he gave me the deadliest glare, which I think is the most dangerous stare he gave me, so far. " What took you so long?!" He asked, annoyed.
I shrugged, "traffic."
He laughed sarcastically at my remark, "Shut it Cylen, the next time you send me here, I'll make sure you'll get to taste my work next time."
I cringed in disgust. He's in charge of our strategy and hacking whatever which is in fact, my weakness. I hate stuffs that force me to use my reserved brain.
I was about to complain when a huge van painted in white stopped beside us. My right eye brow immediately shot up when the window in the driver's seat rolled down and revealed Blaine wearing a huge sunglasses.
"What the hell?" I muttered under my breath, totally disgusted at the scene.
Blaine removed her glasses and pouted, "what? It doesn't suit me?" She asked in the most annoying tone.
"No comment." Jarius said and entered, he sat at the seat in the back while I sat beside Blaine without uttering a single word.
"You guys are rude!" She complained before starting the engine and drove away from the place.
"That Gave guy is there again." Jarius said as a matter of fact. He's now busy with his laptop. Sometimes I wonder why he is the most intelligent among us when he is the youngest member. He's just 18 and I'm already twenty-three but I feel like he's older than me when he speaks.
"Yeah, I almost got caught this time." I said, sighing.
Blaine raised her eyes brows, her eyes is still on the road, "not 'this time', you're always 'almost' caught."
I laughed, "Oh come on! Just be glad that I'm safe."
Jarius scoffed at the back, "I do hope they'll catch you next time."
I narrowed my eyes on him, "what? Are you still mad that I made you fight?"
He diverted his eyes on me, "Why did you put me there in the first place?!" He said, annoyed, " You do know that all I can do is shoot, what if someone reached my place and punched me?!"
Blaine laughed hard at Jarius remark, "Okay okay, next time I'll stop Cylen from placing you in the front line because you might get punched," she said then laughed again.
"By the way," I said, interrupting Blaine's annoying laughs, "Open the case Jarius."
From the rear mirror, I saw him took the case and opened it. How stupid, they didn't even put a lock on it.
When he opened it, my eyes shone when I saw the pile of paper money inside but it immediately died when Jarius lift a piece of a brown paper from the corner of the case.
"What's that?" I asked.
"It's an address." Jarius coughed before reading the content, "Underground Science Laboratory, 3:40 pm, -----."
My foredhead creased, "Transaction? Negotiation? Meeting? What is that address for?"
Blaine parked the car in the corner of the streets and took the paper from Jarius, "It's probably a transaction, since it's hidden under the pile of money."
Jarius laughed, "What a nice way of thinking. But oh well, there's only one way to know."
---------
I adjusted my black cup, securing that it properly covers my face before getting out of the van. The building infront of me looks like an ordinary private hospital. This must be the cover of the science laboratory written in the paper to avoid the prying eyes of the media and the people.
We have no idea if the laboratory is legal or not but it's none of our business since we, ourselves is illegal.
I was about to take a step forward when I heard the window from the driver seat rolled down, "Take care, call me if you need help." Blaine waved before closing the window again.
I heaved a sigh. The fact that invading a well secured organization is dangerous registered in my mind just now.
"Miss, your ID?" the guard at the entrance asked.
I raised my eyebrow, "I didn't know that Identification is required in hospitals."
The man scratched his back, probably thinking an excuse or probably because he's annoyed, either way, I'll enter with or without his permission, I'll just blast my way in if he won't allow me.
"That's because this is a private hospital ma'am." He said making me scoff.
"Can't you think of a better excuse? No one will believe that crap." I said before grabbing a fistful of his hair and slammed his head straight into the glass door entrance, making him lose his consciousness.
The loud security alarm engulfed the inside of the building. The sound is too loud to the point that it's heard even in the outside.
"What the heck Cylen?!" I heard Jarius cursed from the communication device placed on my right ear "How can you be so reckless?!"
Instead of listening to Blaine and Jarius endless rants, I entered the place, head on.
The moment my feet landed on the hospital's tiled floor number of red dots from the security's laser gun covered my body. I smirked.
"Raise you hand!" One of the armed man ordered making my grin wider.
Slowly, I raised my arms but the devious grin on my face remained, "Drop your weapon!" He ordered again but this time I didn't budge.
"So you're an illegal organization after all?" I asked with a mocking tone. "So it wouldn't matter if I trash this place right?"
The man who, I think is the leading security laughed sarcastically, "You still have the guts to boast despite your situation huh?"
I also laughed and with swift movement I took a flash grenade from the pocket of my jacket and threw it at the center.
I heard countless grunts infront as I walked towards the left side with my eyes closed and when I'm sure that I already made distance I opened my eyes again only to be welcomed by a surging pain in my left arm.
" Shit!" I groaned and eyed the middle aged man infront sharply
"What is the famous leader of theives doing in a place like this?" He asked, her eyes is spurting annoyance and anger but it didn't scare me, instead I chuckled, fueling his emotions more.
"Well curiosity got the best of me." And probably because of too much iritation he dashed towards me, hitting my stomach with great force.
And with that, I lost my consciousness and the only thing that I heard before passing out is my name repeatedly called in the thing stucked in my ears.
A great amount of light greeted me so I closed my eyes again tightly. When I'm sure that my sight had recovered from the shock I tried opening my eyes again, slowly trying to adjust my sight from the extreme brightness.
"You're awake." A man's voice enveloped my ears. When I turned to see who is it, I saw the man I last laid my eyes on before getting engulfed into darkness moments ago.
I smiled weakly. I tried moving but piece cold metal is preventing me to do so. I'm chained. I also noticed that the device I'm supposed to use to communicate with Blaine and Jarius is gone.
"Release me." I demanded with so much ferocity but it seems that it didn't affect him a bit.
"Scary." He said full of mockery. "What brings you here Cylen?" He stood and walked towards the chair I'm tied to. "What is a famous band of thieves want with us?"
I didn't answer. I wouldn't give him the statisfaction of getting the answers that he want.
"Answer me!" He growled but I remained stubborn. "Did someone told you about 'that'?"
That piqued my interest. "Yeah, we want that." I said, trying to extract information from him without being noticed.
"Who told you about Pangen?" He asked again, he now look pissed, "I'll take his head."
Pangen huh? I wonder what that is? Is that expensive?
I clicked my tongue, "If I swore to keep my mouth shut and keep my hands off Pangen will you set me free?"
He laughed without humor, "No I won't, but sure, I'll release you." He paused for a moment, " that is after I detach your head from that body of yours."
I cringed, no way of getting out of these huh?
I guess I went overboard this time. Stupid Jarius! He didn't even check the hospital's background before sending me in! Now I'm stuck here!
He lifted my head using his index finger, "The Blade's long legacy will end in your generation."
His statement snapped my remaining self control. I gritted my teeth. "**** you!"
He laughed, totally unaffected at my sudden burst of anger. "Hate me, but it won't change the fact that you're chained here waiting to get yourself killed." He said arrogantly before walking out of the room.
****! I'll crush that asshole's head if I get out of this place alive!
I roamed my gaze around. I'm chained in a metal chair, there's nothing inside the room except this chair in the center and cctv cameras in every corner of the room.
Completely hopeless, I sighed. what should I do know? I won't be able to crush his head if I die here right?
I wiggled on my seat, trying if I can break free but it's futile. They chained me tightly so every time I use force it only brings me pain, the only way to remove it is to use the key on the lock which I'm sure is in that guy's possession.
A slight vibration made me stop wiggling. I closed my eyes and realized it came from a small device stuck on the left side of my shirt. It looks like a pin, I remember Jarius sticking it there earlier. Must be for this kind of situations.
I remained silent, trying to feel the vibration then I realized it was a Morse code!
'Distract'
'Save'
'20 sec'
That's as far as I understood but I get it. They probably mean that I need to distract them for 20 seconds so they can save me.
I smirked and with full volume, I screamed. Ten guards, including the eccentric guy earlier came to me in a rush. "What the hell?!" He asked, irritation is visible.
"P-Please, let me out of here! " I said, forcing myself to cry. "I don't w-want to die yet!"
Mentally, I praised myself. I should become an actress someday.
The annoying guy laughed as if seeing me cry is amusing, " You finally took that brave act of yours off." He walked towards me and held my hair, I grimaced at the pain, "I can't believe that the leader of the most mischievous group of thieves is begging me right now. "
"I'm not begging you piece of shit!" —I really want to say that.
"Please! " I said, pretending to beg more and trying to hide my real intentions. Gosh! I want to slap him badly!
He was about to say another annoying comment when we felt the building slightly shake along with a loud explosion from below.
The room's door flung open, revealing a slightly out of breath man, "Invaders!"
The annoying guy clicked his tongue in irritation, "Cease them and bring them to me." He said before turning to face me, his eyes is blazing with anger, "I'll teach those guys a lesson, along with this scheming bitch. "
I smirked at him, "Let me give you an advice as an advance payment of that so-called lesson of yours." He raised and eyebrow but I gave him no attention, "My comrades, Blaine, the tanned girl in particular is unstoppable when I'm in danger."
He grinned back, "Well you're quite loved aren't you? " he said sarcastically.
I shrugged, "I'm not, it's just that I'm their leader." He just laughed and stormed out of the room.
Waiting is my only option huh?
I remained in my position, listening to the continuous explosions and screams from different direction. I trust my members so much, the leader before me chose them himself and I've seen their capabilities that's why.
Half an hour later the door opened. I smiled widely when I saw Blaine, she's covered with sweat and blood, but I'm pretty sure that she's not injured, it probably came from her opponents. Her sight landed on my shoulders, "You're shot." She stated.
I chuckled, "Obviously."
Blaine rolled her eyes before walking towards me. She doesn't have the key so she used a laser blade to untie me. "Where's Jarius?" I asked.
"Control room with Rego." She said and helped me stood.
My forehead creased, "Who's in the car then? "
She gave me a glance before walking in front of me, I filled her. "Fanaly."
I mumbled a curse, "Why did you let Jarius inside?! It's dangerous! We can't have him dying on us you know!"
She faced me with a serious expression. Geez! Blaine is scary at times like this. She's seriously pissed!
"He—We wouldn't be in danger if you didn't pull that crazy stunt and get captured!"
"Sorry okay? Can't you just be glad that I'm fine?"
She didn't answer and continue walking. I really pissed her off this time around. "Jarius said that he want to check something so I sent him in with Rego."
Check something?
