In the afternoon when I arrived at the park, I met Lina and a lawyer. They offered me a job on behalf of their boss. The job required me to be Sofia's full-time nanny and live in her house to be with her all the time. I would have a roof over my head and food to eat. The pay was the best a seventeen-year-old girl could get, so I accepted the job without hesitation.
Lina took me to a beautiful mansion. I couldn't believe how big and luxurious it was. She showed me my room, and right beside my bed was a crib for Luna and many things for her. I almost cried of excitement. Luna has never had anything. We were given whatever little things we have at the shelter. I looked inside the crib and there was a teddy bear. I took it and showed it to Luna. She loved it and held onto it tightly.
After a while in the room, Lina informed us that Mr. and Sofia had arrived. So I went out with Luna, and when we were in the foyer, Sofia saw us and ran to hug us. I thanked Mr. and he said there was no need to thank him. Then he left us alone and went away.
Mr. Cristobal is very handsome. He's a dream for any woman. Honestly, his mere presence makes me nervous, but he's a very important man, and I must see him only as my boss and nothing more.
We spent the afternoon playing and laughing. When it was dinner time, I thought I would eat in the kitchen like the rest of the staff, but I had dinner with Sofia and her father in the dining room. I was a little embarrassed because they exuded elegance and luxury, while I, on the other hand, showed poverty.
After finishing dinner, I took Sofia to bathe. Luna was already asleep. When Sofia was ready, I read her a story, and she fell asleep. I was going to go downstairs to my room, which is on the ground floor, but I ran into Sofia's father face to face. He was shirtless and sweaty.
"Sorry sir, I didn't see you," I apologized blushing when I bumped into his strong and muscular physique.
"Don't worry, I took the opportunity to exercise while you were with Sofia. It's been a while since I last did it," Cristobal replied with a smile that illuminated the night and made me super nervous. If he looks like that when he hasn't exercised much, how will he look when he exercises daily?
"Well, I'll go check on Luna with your permission," I quickly spoke and hurried down the stairs to my room.
I looked at Luna in her crib, still peacefully asleep. I contemplated her for a moment. She's beautiful. Now she sleeps cuddling the small bear I showed her when we came to pick her up. I will overcome and be better. Tomorrow, I will talk to Mr. Cristobal to see if he allows me to study online or take a course. I want to improve myself and be able to provide for Luna.
I went into the shower and stayed there for a while. In the shelter, showers were limited, but here I can enjoy taking a long shower without any problems. When I felt satisfied, I got out of the shower, put on my pajamas, and got into bed. I wanted to sleep as always, hugging Luna, but she looked very comfortable in her crib with her bear, so I let her rest. But I missed her, so I tossed and turned in bed until I finally fell asleep.
The next morning, I woke up very early, just like Luna. We got ready and went upstairs to see Sofia. When I entered Sofia's room, she was already ready for school and had already done her hair. She's a very independent child; I suppose she's used to doing things on her own.
"Ready to go have breakfast?" I asked with a smile.
"Yes, let's go," she replied happily, and we went downstairs.
We went down to have breakfast, and once again, her father insisted that I stay at the table with them, so I did. After breakfast, the chauffeur took Sofia to school. I told Mr. Cristobal about my desire to study, and he said I could use the computer in his office for online studying. He also said he would provide me with a cellphone for work as we need to be in constant communication in case something happens to Sofia and I need to call him.
Later, he went to work and I stayed to help Lina with whatever I could, as I didn't want to spend the whole day doing nothing, and I waited for Sofia. After helping them in the kitchen and cleaning the house, I went with Luna, who was playing calmly with one of the employees. At lunchtime, Sofia returned, and to everyone's surprise, the boss did too. Lina told me that he hardly ever comes to eat, only to have breakfast and dinner. That's why everyone was surprised. While we were eating, Luna reached out her little arms for him to pick her up, and he did. Luna laughs happily in his arms, and who wouldn't be happy in his arms? He's better than a Greek god. God, what nonsense I'm thinking. He's my boss, but that doesn't take away how attractive he is and how with one of his smiles, anyone would fall at his feet, including me. I won't lie, he's the type of man anyone would desire by their side, but I'm realistic and I know he would never notice a simple nanny and poor girl like me. That's why I settle for just seeing that wonderful man and nothing more. I can never dream that something might happen between him and me.
