Near The Void
"
' for God's sake, it's been more than a week in this God forsaken place! '.
Lifting his head, hearing his rugged breathing as if he had been running for hours. Prying open his heavy eyes wrestling to hold them open.
the growling of his stomach faintly heard as he had not eaten anything for the past two days.
' the food I had brought with me only lasted a week'.
Since he didn't have much Food in the first place, even with rationing the food only lasted for a week.
If I survive I swear to always have extra food with me.
Barely hanging on as one foot is thrown in front of the other, albeit sluggishly.
Hanging his face back down to look forward only to see where he is going.
'I found some ruins, but they are almost completely gone'.
'I' 've checked them but couldn't find anything useful.
The sound of thunder and lightning being the only sound heard except the sound of his sore feet.
Bringing his head down slightly to looking at the old hand watch on his right hand which his father gave him on his sixteenth birthday.
It looks like those expensive hand-watches from those big brands, but he knows better as his father was never rich enough to buy them.
Silver lining without any numbers inside, only the corners having Roman numbers indicating the time.
"I wonder if he is still fine"
His steps slowed down, With a hint of complicated emotion in his eyes.
A bit absent-minded, remembering his father's words when he gifted him the watch.
A middle-aged man looking at a teenage boy standing in front of him.
" My son, there will come a time when you are lost, alone and hopeless"
The boy's eyes widening with worry as he interrupted his father's words.
"I didn't know you could be poetic old man"
teasing his dad with a bit of mockery observed in his eyes.
But the middle-aged man as if didn't hear his mocking continued.
" Remember what I will tell you it's important for your survival"
" old ma.."
Before he could resume his mocking he was interrupted.
"LISTEN, This watch is special, it will only work in a special place."
.
.
"so this is the special place huh"
" works my as* it's obviously not working, or you were just tricking me Oldman"
Screaming or just trying to scream since his voice hardly came out.
Doesn't matter how many times he checks the wristwatch, it only shows the time.
'Ahh... Whatever'.
'I don't even want to think about it anymore'.
Pushing forward being the only option, hoping to be lucky and be saved by someone or somehow save himself.
looking up to see lightning covering the sky as if it were daylight.
'At least checking the time allowed me to find something interesting.'
'the time the lightning is intense is more or less twelve hours, same for the nights'
Looking around in the "daylight" trying to find any evidence of the living being futile.
How much longer? Hmm....!
