Episode #1

“Episode #1 — The Day It Froze"

“When fear turns to frost, truth begins to bleed.”

Note: This story includes fictional and fantasy elements.

People will always demotivate you and still say —

“When we demotivated you, we were only motivating you. You’re the one who doesn’t want to do anything.”

I’ve always regretted realizing things only after time had already passed.

I am Nareen Tharen — a very average girl.

Or maybe, for most people, the dumbest one they ever met.

The word “consoling” feels like a sharp knife. Every teacher I ever met thought I was abnormal.

I barely spoke a word.

Rarely answered.

Never shouted.

No bad habits.

Still dull in studies.

Rarely participated in school events.

Not active in sports.

For them, I was useless.

Worthless.

Shy. Spoiled. Overly pampered.

But I wasn’t.

I was born with something people wouldn’t understand — noble blood, and also evil blood.

Why? I’ll tell you someday, but not today.

This blood holds me back from trusting people. It hurts when your every prediction about them turns out true.

Whatever happens, I can’t stop. I need to keep going.

{In the classroom}

Nareen stepped into the classroom — and froze.

The moment her shoes touched the floor, her whole body started trembling.

Then her knees gave in, and she collapsed.

Just a second ago, the weather outside was boiling hot — the kind that made the air shimmer.

But inside the room, it was freezing.

“Why is it suddenly so cold?”

She gasped, clutching her arms. “Outside it’s burning, but… why does my body feel hot?”

Her breath came out in short, uneven clouds. “Am I having a fever? No, that’s impossible. I took my medicine… properly.”

Mr. K, one of her teachers, rushed over.

“Nareen! What happened? Are you okay?”

(In the staff room, behind the first-year classroom)

Mrs. Jo sighed, irritated. “Ah, that girl again… what is it this time?”

“I think she’s pretending,” she added, folding her arms. “No doubt a kid like her would pull something like this.”

Ms. D, from class management, frowned. “At first, I thought she was a sincere student. But after what happened between you and her that day…”

Mrs. Jo smirked. “Exactly. I didn’t even say anything harsh — and suddenly she started crying like a little kid.”

Ms. D sighed, “Whatever it is, we still need to look after her.”

(Back in the classroom)

Nareen could hear every word from the teachers.

Slowly, she lifted her head.

Between the classroom and the staff room was a glass partition — transparent enough to reflect her face like a mirror.

“Is that… me?” she whispered, staring at her reflection.

Her breath hitched.

“Wait… what is this? Fangs?”

Her lips parted in disbelief. “What in the world is going on?”

She blinked hard.

“No. Even if I’ve read hundreds of fantasy novels and comics… this can’t be real. I don’t believe in such things.”

Her heart pounded. “Maybe I’m hallucinating. Yeah… that must be it.”

" Ah... it makes on sense. Still I if it's really I can't let anyone see this "

“The sound of her heartbeat echoed louder than the whispers behind the glass.”

But even as she thought that, her reflection grinned — sharper, colder — while her real lips didn’t move.

Her vision blurred.

Her body grew heavier.

And before she could understand anything, Nareen Tharen lost consciousness.

“then she got unconscious…”
