The Shadow In The Attic

The Shadow In The Attic

the creepy shadow in the attic

As soon as Mary and her family moved into their new home, she noticed a strange feeling of unease. But she couldn't quite put her finger on what was causing it. That is, until she saw the shadow in the attic.

It started out as a small, indistinct shape in the corner of her eye. She would catch glimpses of it whenever she passed by the attic door. But whenever she turned to look directly at it, the shadow would disappear.

At first, Mary tried to ignore it. She told herself that it was just her imagination playing tricks on her. But the feeling of unease grew stronger with each passing day. And soon, Mary couldn't help but investigate.

One evening, when her husband was away on business, Mary decided to climb up to the attic and take a closer look. As she pushed open the creaky door, she saw the shadow again, but this time it was more defined. It seemed to be the shape of a person, with long, spindly arms and a head that cocked to one side.

Mary's heart raced as she took a step closer. The shadow seemed to shrink back, as if afraid of her. But when she took another step forward, it grew in size and began to loom over her. Mary felt a cold breath on her neck and turned to run, but her foot caught on a loose board and she stumbled to the ground.

When she looked up again, the shadow was gone. But Mary knew it was still there, lurking in the darkness of the attic. And from that day on, she could feel its presence everywhere she went in the house.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Mary's husband noticed her growing anxiety and tried to reassure her that it was all in her head. But Mary knew the truth. She could feel the shadow's cold breath on the back of her neck every time she turned around. She could hear its soft whispering in the middle of the night.

One day, Mary decided she couldn't take it anymore. She was going to confront the shadow once and for all. She climbed up to the attic with a flashlight in one hand and a hammer in the other, determined to rid her home of this dark presence.

As she reached the top of the stairs, the shadow was waiting for her. It towered over her, its spindly arms reaching out to wrap around her. Mary swung the hammer, but it passed right through the shadow as if it was made of smoke.

And then, in a flash of blinding light, the shadow was gone. Mary was left alone in the attic, panting and sweating. She knew the shadow was gone for good, but she also knew that it had left its mark on her forever. From that day on, she would never forget the cold breath on the back of her neck or the sound of its whispering in the middle of the night. And even though the shadow was gone, Mary knew it would always be there, waiting for its chance to return
